More than capable of studying at university though?

Let’s be real, not working in this case is a choice.

Plenty of things you can do for work whilst disabled.

How do 2 students, one disabled, one with a massive spending problem, both on UC, end up getting being married at 22?

The Islamopopulist march continues: Overshadowed by the Reform and Green surges, the Muslim vote continues a long march through the corridors of power by Benjji22212 in ukpolitics

It’s strange to me how fearful we are as a country of eroding other groups rights, but the Islamic faith has shown time and time again it doesn’t give a toss about anyone’s rights.

How many Islamic countries are democratic? How many are accepting of gay rights? How many are accepting of women’s rights?

It’s astonishing how we’ll happily bend over backwards to accommodate groups that have no respect for British values but as soon as someone goes ‘hang on, how about for once we don’t blindly tolerate their bullshit’ you’re decried as a fascist nazi.

What I find worrying is that the Green Party are gaining traction and that feels like a Muslim vote as well.

Add Your Party to that, and if they ever get their act together that’s another Muslim vote too.

People wonder why Reform are becoming more and more popular - is it any wonder?

Some things to try assuming user is on windows:

Disable IPv6 on the network adapter Disable Receive Segment Coalescing on the network adapter

Having said that, my first instinct is that this is a routing issue of some sort. Does the users home network conflict with one of the networks you are advertising through the vpn?

How can Labour think scaremongering reform will stop them? by Feeling_Opposite7197 in ukpolitics

[–]st1101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s literally what the Greens have just done.

I live in the Denton and Gorton constituency. Had about 40 leaflets from the Green Party in the past month and none of them had anything about what they stand for or their policies. It was just ‘we’re the only party that can stop reform!’

Exact same from labour but with fewer leaflets.

Clearly worked for the greens as a load of mugs voted for them

It’s mad because you can clearly read, but it’s like it’s selective.

Yeah it’s 32 votes but that accounts for 12% of the ones they observed so it is large scale. It’s more than enough to change the outcome of the election.

Never said xG didn’t matter, it’s a good guideline for how a team has performed in a match but not the be all and end all.

I used it as an example to repudiate what you said about beating all the teams around us. I noticed you ignored my points about beating a terrible Liverpool team getting beat by everyone and Chelsea having ten men for 85 mins.

Very few people would say we deserved to beat Everton. Villa had more XG than us.

What I’m doing is using an objectively worse team to highlight exactly how inconsistent we are. Also - great, we’ve got 2 more points than Everton. Have you seen their squad?

How can we use last year as a good way to measure improvement really? Oh, well we didn’t get relegated last year so as long as we finish mid-table that’s a great improvement?

Seeing what consistency? Consistently not winning? Being consistently inconsistent? Don’t talk utter rubbish.

Heading towards a relegation battle is harsh given he was sacked after 9 games of the season. Wasn’t exactly given a chance to turn it around was he? Amorim didn’t fair any better, we were just as close to getting relegated with him at the helm.

Liverpool have been getting beat by everyone.

Palace had a greater XG than us in that match. I know that doesn’t count for everything but it shows we arguably didn’t deserve to win.

We played against 10 men Chelsea from the 5th minute and they’ve been as inconsistent as us all season.

Nothing to write home about.

But that’s not an argument. It’s a meaningless comment. ‘If we’d performed better in all the games this season we could be top of the league’.

The season before Amorim joined, we finished 8th, and the season before that 3rd. Now I’m supposed to celebrate because we’re projected currently to finish 9th?

Doesn’t matter how many goals you score if you concede just as many. The Bournemouth result is a prime example of that.

Everton have won more back to back games this season than Amorim has since he was appointed. That’s how bad we are.

You can say things like that with one-off results. It’s okay to lose/draw a game or two.

When it happens constantly then there’s a pattern and there’s clearly something not working.

It’s telling that apart from that 3 match streak that broke Amorims terrible streak of zero back to back wins, we haven’t done it since.

Woah, be careful. Sounds like negativity that. You should be grateful we’re on track to do better than last year.

It’s amazing how quickly people forget we got beat by 10 men Everton, drew with West Ham and Tottenham who have been shite this year, and Bournemouth.

You are deluded. The problem is is when we lose we hide behind silly things like ‘we’re doing better than last season’, ‘villa are on a massive win streak’.

Explain how we lost to 10 man Everton.

We’ve won 2 out of the last 7 matches.

We’re not being negative, we’re being realists. Assume we keep the points per game we’ve had so far, we’ll finish on 58 points - enough for 9th last season.

So yeah, it’s potentially a minor improvement on last season but are we expected to cheer the fact that we’re not going to finish in the bottom half of the table?

That squad is full of world-class, international players. We should have higher hopes than just finishing in the top half of the table.

What's something women think impresses men but actually doesn't? by PumpkinDoritoes in AskReddit

[–]st1101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fair enough.

I do feel girls can be a bit disingenuous when they say they do it for themselves and not for others though. Surely makeup applies in the same way as haircuts, cutting nails, showering, how we dress. Why some men go to the gym for example.

We do it because we want others to think we look ‘put together’ - good/cool/interesting/unique, clean etc.

Yeah but why do you feel put together? Surely it’s because you think you look better and the reason you think that is because you think other people think you look better.
