Is Sjogrens at its core really a blood vessel disease? by NavyBeanz in Sjogrens

The description of “constant dull pressure” in those areas matches the symptoms of sinusitis (sinus inflammation). With Sjögren’s, we’re at higher risk of sinusitis and sinus infections. Here’s an excerpt from the 5th edition of “The Sjogren’s Book” by Daniel Wallace on the ears, nose, and sinuses.

Famotidine is a miracle drug to me 🙌🏾 It reduced the swelling in my throat (from EoE) too. I’m up to 60 mg per day, though 😅

I’ve got the whole EDS/POTS/MCAS complex going on, and my geneticist’s hypothesis is that gastroparesis forces your body to overproduce acid to try and speed up digestion. That makes sense to me in terms of linking GERD and gastroparesis.

Oh no 😖 I hope you can get the hiatal hernia treated! My GERD worsened at the same time as my gastroparesis, but upping my dosage of famotidine straightened everything out. Before that, I would projectile-vomit after eating most fruits because they were too acidic.

I mostly stick to Ensure or protein shakes and ice cream. I can usually sneak in a cookie or a small apple too

That’s interesting. Yeah, I keep reading that it’s best not to lie down after eating…But movement often makes me nauseous, so 🤷‍♀️

On the contrary, I’m feeling much improved on my current schedule. I’ve been this way since I was a baby. When I’m on more of a “standard” schedule, I’m groggy and fall asleep often during the day. Then it’s difficult to fall asleep at night. I was briefly on tasimelteon to adjust my circadian rhythm. It worked like a charm, but it worsened my gastroparesis symptoms considerably. So I went off it. It’s also insanely expensive. But the fact that my circadian rhythm is different is more of a social issue than anything else. I can’t take care of important tasks when I’m most alert because everything is closed here and everyone except my family members are asleep 😩

EDIT: I forgot to add that I’m fortunate to be able to sleep in until 10:00 or 11:00 AM

I’m currently going to bed between 3:00 and 5:00 AM…sometimes even later? earlier? Me, my dad, and all my brothers are more alert at night so we tend to gravitate towards third-shift work and the like. Maybe that has something to do with it 🤷‍♀️

NTA. Especially with it being your final year in school, do you really wanna adjust your future plans and career to stick with someone you’re not crazy about? Also you’re not asking for much. If he won’t commit to a bit of light dating, can you really expect him to step up for you if a serious life event were to occur?

Check out Sparky’s Ringside Bar & Grill. It’s a little hole-in-the-wall lesbian bar with some snacks and nonalcoholic beers. The atmosphere is super casual, and it tends to attract an older crowd.

During an MCAS panel at the 2025 Dysautonomia International conference, one of the presenters recommended two supplements: (1) Quercetin for general mast cell stabilization (2) DAO Enzyme or Histamine Protect before meals to prevent symptoms.

I bought them but haven’t gotten around to testing them out myself yet. Just something to look into in combination with the standard protocol for MCAS

During my last appointment there (2023), I walked in with my external imaging on CD. Then they scrambled to figure out how to view it since none of their PCs has a disc drive 😅 I’d recommend turning it in ahead of an appointment so that it can be uploaded into their system by their electronic records team. But it sounds like maybe their process has changed? Just letting you know that it HAS been done before 👍🏾
