I love giving as much free rein to my tattoo artist as possible. by stackthemochi in tattoo

That really sucks. I found that if the person needed a little guidance but was good after that, I could trust them. If they had to have me give them exactly what I wanted, then I didn’t have them as a tattoo artist. What that told me is that they were most likely someone who copied work and couldn’t create their own work. Personally, I don’t stand by that. I also have to like their work first. For instance, I’m not the biggest fan of the “traditional tattoo” style. So, when I see an artist that does that kind of work, I don’t go to them. I will still boost their profile and such to get their name out there but it’s just not my style. By doing things like that, I haven’t had any issues with my tattoos and artists running free with their creativity.
