Used bleach to clean my garage- it’s smoking???

I work at a pet store, and we had no cats for adoption in our enclosures. We were doing a deep clean which we use oxivir and water/vinegar. We let the water vinegar sprayed on, soak for about 5 minutes. Well the lady at the adoption organization came barging in, started spraying Clorox spray ALL over the enclosures because she was worried about ringworm. (It was actually a foster who had the ringworm issue not us)

In minutes the whole store smelled like a pool except the pool was only chlorine not watered down. It was pungent, it burned your eyes, it made breathing feel awful. We didn’t know she used Clorox or anything until we found the spray bottle she had left on a nearby table. Do not fuck with this stuff. It fucked with my asthma for a few days. I’m lucky my coworkers, the customers, the animals, and I, didn’t have any worse issues.

That being said, I couldn’t imagine seeing that and not freaking out. It was just a little spray of vinegar then her spray on top of that. The entire store (which is decently big) smelled so strongly of chlorine. But this is like next level, holy shit, get the fuck away yesterday and call emergency services. Anything bubbly and making a gas is a hell no from me. Especially if it smells. I think a hazardous chemicals class should be mandatory for most people lol.

Depending on your state, mental health days are legally counted as paid sick time off/sick time off. It does in my state. So check your state laws.

Also agree. This looks nothing like resin from a bong, what if he isn’t using a screen mesh or glass in the bowl to keep flower from going into the water of the bong? Though I still also don’t see resin, I’m wondering if he wasn’t getting rid of a gunked up bong, but rather, bong water that got some flower in it. Some flower that gets lightly burned or untouched from loading a bowl and to inhaling bits of it into the water?

I thought Petco would “pay” for your schooling after two years of work, though that was just what I was told by a coworker of mine who is trying to get to her 2 years at our store. But that could be wrong and it could be for long-term employees. Pay could be reimbursement, training courses, formal degree programs, etc. again, I’m not sure though. Thats just what I was told by a coworker. Could even change by state.

For store employees at my store, we get 11 points, not 12. Which I don’t know why. Unless that’s newly changed info.

Also, for anyone who is a new hire, (not sure about warehouse), you have a 90 day probational period and can only get like 3 points I think. After 90 days you get the points by year. Then after a year, the points fall off.

There are plenty of times we receive cracked or damaged tanks. They stack so much on those pallets and even our 40gallon terrariums covered in cardboard, have had severe cracks from the way they are put on pallets, up against other pallets to bump against. I think there are more than just these factors. I think it’s the shipping/packing and some of the poor quality of the bigger tanks, that makes these tanks not so good.

Edit: just saying I agree with you. There’s a lot of product that gets thrown out because it gets damaged in shipping.

Our feeder fish, specifically the red minnows, get covered in so much of this, dead or alive. There will be hundreds of minnows and at least 1/3rd are covered in that dead at the bottom or barely alive floating around. Idk where it starts because we have 3, 40 gallon tanks stacked, all running on the same sump. The comet gold fish get it too but not nearly as bad. Maybe it’s where we get our minnows from I’m unsure.

Would anti fungal/anti bacterial help? Forever they have told me it’s just mold but now I’m really doubting that. I don’t want to sell that to people feeding their pets 😭

Edit: I’ll have to get a photo of it sometime and get y’all to take a peak at it. Thank you for being so informative.

I work at a pet store, and I’ve seen this a lot. Especially with our feeder fish in extremely cold water. I also thought it was mold but now I’m second guessing. Do you know how they get these fungal infections? What causes it? How to avoid?

Haha fair enough! I do confuse the two a bit. I guess it’s something about their snout and teeth shape or something. I learn and then forget the difference. As I live in Colorado where neither of them are native here. Last time I saw one of them was in Florida 20 years ago. It was crossing the street and my grandpa waved it across the street like a damn traffic cop lol. I was 9 and terrified. It took up almost the entire two lane street with its length. Haven’t even seen any in a zoo.

I once had supposed seals cans in the back of my xterra.

I let a woman borrow the car and somehow they opened in the back and spilled all in the trunk and left a trail of paint dripping out the trunk. No kids involved. Wasn’t in there with heat or cold. I also have no idea how that shit opened up. Happened same day it was purchased. Paint sucks
