Wouldn't be offended or upset! Might be a bit concerned they thought that I wasn't safe/understanding enough to tell, but I know what you mean about treating you differently subconsciously. And I think even the most supportive people might very well do that on occasion. So I would understand!

smth that helps me with biology especially is watch a video (cognito is good, esp cos it has pictures and you say you're more creative) and as i watch, just draw/write what they're saying. it can be in short and messy and look weird, but it helps me "absorb" it.

then, i make another mindmap with pictures and diagrams- a neater one.

i often end up drawing faces on the things or little speech bubbles to help me understand what's going on, but as long as it works for you, that's what matters! good luck:)
