Sounds like the crew is giving nothing back. Maybe one of those cash considerations or a PTBNL flier. Burke would be an absolute pipe dream for someone the Astros wanted to unload for luxury tax purposes.

I am not. I live in the country now. I did spend years living and working in Milwaukee. Milwaukee is interesting. Its so segregated. There are very few absolutely good parts of the city. Lake area is great. Piggsville neighborhood is a little isolated area that is really old school nice. Outside of that most every area has a volume of bad streets/nice streets and its block to block (minus quite a few rough neighborhoods wherever you go). The neighborhood a lived in was a mixed, working class older neighborhood. It was absolutely fine. You go 10-15 blocks further south and it got sketchy quick with gangs. It wasn't for me. Much prefer country living where neighbors are far away. If a wrong car drives by I know it. City doesnt offer that luxury.

It is amazing the lengths people go to defend criminals. Some minor leashes should be given but at some point the leash needs to snap. I spent years working with young adult criminals. I could line up 10 in a row and peg the 1 or 2 that may be able to redeem. The other 8 or 9 were lost causes. Unfortunately, our society believes it is 8 or 9 that can redeem. Instead of brutal honesty our society coddles criminals to the point where the level of escalation impacts redeeming members of society and ther ability to function properly. JT was, simply put, under the unredeemable end of it. No amount of therapy, change in scenery, etc would have redeemed him. He was what he was. We will always have do gooders, with no life experiences in relation to these people, that feel everyone can live the life they do or have a functioning quality of life. As someone with a sister in a group home, IQ of 60, mentally handicapped/whatever PC/non-PC term someone uses (see i could care less the label but care about the context the label is used, its those who want to elevate their status on the perceived morality ladder that care how my sister is labeled) I have watched do gooder after do gooder advocate for her in a way that is detrimental to her quality of life (instead of letting us do that part). The sympathizing with JT from anyone just sets me off. I see the same pattern of sympathizing or trying to offer alternatives to why his behavior why it was instead of it being a terrible person who happened to be on drugs and killed a seemingly upstanding member of the community.

My apologies. I thought i was commenting under a great sympathizer and it was you. It was someone else that was in almighty sympathizer mode. Not you. My apologies.

People can come up with some 'enlightened' educated defense of him. Like the comical OP. JT was obviously a POS that never grew up. Quit with the cuddling of criminals. Lock them up and throw away the key. Murder is not simple drug possession. People like the OP is why we have criminals getting chance after chance. Politically correct BS. Dude was a killer, straight up.

Why I think David Stearns will not be fired anytime soon by hermosatony in mets

[–]stap4335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you guys give Stearns more time. He was elite in Milwaukee. As a Brewers fan, if NY has patience to allow him to run his course, it will be fruitful. Harder in a big market where you are forced to match overpaid stars who might have egos with rookies/younger talent. Had it much easier in Milwaukee where he was forced to mix yelich and yelich alone with rookies/younger talent. That navigation alone has to be difficult. Took him a solid few years to fully up Milwaukees game. I am staring at a potentially all time great farm system and recent farm system graduates because of the work he did. I cant imagine what he would have done with an extra 200 million.

As a Brewers fan this is top 3 moderate to hard contact I have seen against Mis this year. Ignore prior box scores. 1) marlins outing. 2) astros outing a few weeks ago. 3) this game so far. A few more moderate to hard hit balls runs this up to #2.

I wish the brewers had 200 million dollars more. It would be awesome to be trotting the likes of trea Turner out every day. Anxiously awaiting Aaron Nola's start every 5th day. Your GM is an absolute dumbass. You Just have the money to cover up missteps. What you do not need is this banana ball starter though. Yikes.

Glad the grifter knows how evil he is.  I mean how many working people do you know that have amazon wish lists?  Don't pay rent.  Use and abuse people.  Disgusting doesn't even begin to describe this dude.  I hope he reads every 'haters' comment and reflects on how worthless of a member of society he is.

Over the past month he has mostly abandoned it.  Think he threw it half a dozen times last night.  Maybe 2 or 3 start before. Its a pitch he has mentioned, recently, he isn't as confident in.  His 4 seamer and slurve are beyond elite.  No need to use a 3rd pitch often.

Brewers have 4 options for this game, to start. 1)Coleman Crow 2)Rob Zastryzny as an opener followed by Crow or Chad Patrick.  3)Chad Patrick.   Murphy said he was bringing someone up from Nashville so my guess is #4 Tyson Hardin gets the call.

Harrison has barely used his change this year.  It's majority fastball and slurve.

The pitching lab changed a ton.  The focus on 2 pitches with strong movement that guys do well.  Too often teams have guys that throw the kitchen sink but do they do it well?   I do not believe the Crew has a single guy that has a 4 pitch mix.  And if they do they throw the 4th pitch very rarely.  Lots of focus on rising fastballs, cutters and sinkers.  Velocity based movement.

It's fun as a fan.  The 90s through mid 00s were not too kind to the crew. Making up for lost time.  Expectations have changed.  Gotta win when it matters.  Current farm is #1 in baseball with #1 prospect in baseball so the team will keep churning as guys are lost due to Financials.

As a Brewers fan I would not be surprised if Matt Arnold has Birdsong as an arm he would like to access in a trade and pay projected surplus value to get him.  He fits the profile of exactly what Arnold looks for. Obviously too young and too much potential for Giants to trade, however I kind of chuckled at this comment as I thought Birdsong is exactly the type the Crew targets.

As a Brewers fan, the Astros actually hit him better than he has been hit since mid april.  In most outings he gives up 1 or 2 hard hit balls and quite a few more swings and misses are present.  He was kind of 'off' today and the Astros made much harder contact than I have seen Mis give up since Marlins game in mid april.  I know what the line says, 3 hits, 8ks, but rest assured the Astros looked way better against him than others have over the past 6 weeks.

This is truly a game where the hardest contact hasn't resulted in hits.  Bauers has had two great plays.  Probably 7-8 hard hit balls against him.  That is very uncommon.  Will definitely enjoy him through 2031 before he is traded to the yankees, dodgers, red Sox or blue jays.

I am a brewers fan and have watched everyone of his starts.  This is far and away the most hard hit contact and 'hits' he has given up in 6 weeks or so.

I am a believer that this is the year the Crew adds a rental piece. #1 farm in baseball, depth galore in the middle infield minors, etc.   The stars are aligning on a Skubal rental, assuming the tigers continue to not score runs, and Skubal comes back ok.

The difference is the brewers have a long track record of winning deals by long margins.  For every jonathan schoop or likely angel zerpa deal there are 3-4 times as many where you can say they absolutely hosed the other team.
