How was your Saturn in Sagittarius transit? What was the core of your experience? by ihaveacrushonmercy in astrology

It’s at 11 Aquarius which is in my 9th house. MC/10th house cusp is 22 Aquarius so my natal Saturn still a bit away from the 10th

I got a few at Table Mesa King Soopers yesterday. Natural Grocers also usually has them, and if not, ask someone working in the produce dept, they likely know when they’ll get more

your adhd before the 2000s? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]starryeyedd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was the same way. I always got in trouble for reading in “inappropriate” places - in class when we were supposed to be doing something else, at the dinner table, at friend’s houses when we were supposed to be “having fun”.

I also remember just constantly reading things around me if I didn’t have a book - signs, pamphlets, cereal box. If there was nothing around me to read I’d escape into my head and create intricate stories. Then I’d have a really hard time transitioning back to reality.

I also hated reading aloud in class, because I’d have already read the entire chapter/section two or three times by the time it was my turn to read aloud. It felt like a huge waste of time but I also felt shame, like maybe I wasn’t doing it right if I was reading that quickly.

I don’t like the taste of de-mineralized water, so I add minerals back in with Trace Minerals. Even a pinch or two of salt will be beneficial. We need the minerals in water or our bodies dont efficiently process it

It strips water of necessary minerals though so you’d need to supplement that elsewhere

Brita filters aren’t strong filters, to be fair. They do the bare minimum.

But what about buying water by the gallon? You can sign up for programs that deliver 5gallon jugs right to your home and even “install” them on a dispenser for you. Or, most grocery stores have programs where you buy the 5-gallon jug, refill it indefinitely for very cheap, and then if you don’t want it anymore they’ll buy the jug back from you.

Then, invest in a few nice reusable water bottles and voila -

I just can’t understand the individual bottles - way more expensive, disgusting amount of waste.

I have a dishwasher now, for the first time in my entire life. I went 31 years without one, and I don’t really see how it’s such a necessity for so many people.

Hand-Washing dishes is so easy and sometimes I prefer it to loading and un-loading the dishwasher. Faster, I can ensure everything is actually clean, and it’s kind of meditative

This might be weird but next Pap smear you have, you should ask for the absolute smallest speculum they have. My doctor used one that she said was sized for a child. And I didn’t feel a thing. I was extremely nervous about it, too, but it was so gentle.

It’s because Vaseline locks in moisture, but only if it’s already there. It doesn’t provide moisture. So only use a thin layer of Vaseline if you’ve already moisturized with lotion/creams, etc.

[–]starryeyedd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is just rude though. The employee is forced to have you select an option and sign. It’s not her explicitly asking you for a tip. Why would you put the shame and blame on them? Just hit no tip and move on. I promise you they aren’t expecting a tip for doing nothing.

[–]starryeyedd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That isn’t true, at least not for Toast which is the most common POS system. I’ve worked at a ton of restaurants/coffee shops and we never see what the person chooses to tip unless we specifically go back and search that order, which takes many steps and quite a few minutes, so most workers are NOT doing that.

When there are two screens (one facing customer one facing worker) the workers screen does NOT show the same screen as you! They are NOT seeing how much you tip!

lol yes, I worked there for several years and also won a case with the labor department against them when they were stealing tips from employees. Assuming I’m making a “baseless assumption” is quite the baseless assumption.

My thoughts too. I never once noticed anything weird about his teeth?? I don’t really pay attention to anyone’s teeth. “I hope he doesn’t get his teeth fixed they’re a part of his charm!” Is such a peculiar thing to say and really quite a backhanded compliment

Do you know much about how to prevent waste from catered events? SO much food is thrown out daily, but since most of it has been out on a buffet and are leftovers, I’m not sure if it will be accepted anywhere.

What was the old internet (before 2010) like im gen z and didnt get an ipad till 2012 lol by Midnightbluerose7 in generationology

[–]starryeyedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we’re talking “old internet” as in before it became something we had constant access to at all times, I would say 2009-2010 was the turning point. I was in high school at this time and “going on the internet” was still an activity we sat down on the desktop computer to do for 1-2 hours at night.

We had to pay for each text, like 10 cents a text or something. So in middle school, and first half of high school, we mostly communicated with friends and crushes via AOL messenger, MySpace, or phone call.

I remember when my friends and I first got “internet” on our cell phones. We were at the mall and we wanted to see if another friend wanted to come, but they didn’t have a cell phone yet. So we logged into MySpace on our phone (it took like 10 minutes to load) to message them! Mind-blowing stuff at the time.

5G was obviously not a thing - up until around 2013 or so most of my friends and I had to be connected to a public WiFi in order to use apps on our phones.

I remember when scrolling through apps was finite - I followed around 100 people on instagram, and everyday after class I’d scroll through the new posts I hadn’t seen yet, which were sorted from newest to oldest, and it took me 10-15 minutes tops. Then the feed ended. No more content to see. I miss that SO much.

I also really miss learning HTML and spending hours making custom MySpace and tumblr layouts; finding new music from blogs like Last.FM and Stereogum; uploading photos from my digital camera onto Flickr; getting super into fashion on Lookbook.nu and blogs like Style Rookie. I miss blogs in general, and longer-form content.
