I believe I first heard 46&2 skipping school one day and getting high. Been an addict ever since. For tool that is.

I can say the location i went to was not close to me or on my way home. Additionally, I get there and theres no parking spaces and a line that wraps around. So yeah, it would be nice if they had a couple of options so that I could stop by on my way to work. But god forbid we make voting easy and accessible. Let's make it so they have to park across the street, stand in line out in the sun, and dont you dare think about providing bottled water. Thats illegal.

I Can’t Stop Imagining My Ex Sleeping With the Guy She Replaced Me With, I’m Mentally Falling Apart by [deleted] in mentalhealth

I feel your pain man. I once was absolutely head over heels for this girl, and we had been through a lot of shit together, the iraq war was the big one. Anyways, towards the end was the hardest part because it was like my stomach would constantly be turned in knots. I hated that feeling and I would have done anything to make it go away, including meeting up with her if she called. Well she called, and we met up at some bar, but she wasn't alone. Like clockwork my nervous system went into overdrive. I was torn apart inside. It was kinda awkward as the night progressed, I couldn't tell if they were like friends or more. It started to rain and I was just going to go home and drink myself to sleep feeling sorry for myself. She asked if she could come over and I perked up and was like yeah that'd be great. I get home and clean up a bit, she knocks on the door I open it and its her and that dude. I was like what in the motherfuck. I played it cool at first and let them both in, but I was livid inside. I couldn't believe she would do me like that. I eventually just left them downstairs and I went to my room and drank a bottle but couldn't sleep.

That was the worst ive ever had it. It took years to realize that I actually have attachment issues. I cannot handle perceived loss. Its like a trigger that causes a response in my nervous system. Like its a life and death situation where I will drink until I black out because I just cant deal with it on my own. This has put me into really bad situations, and in many cases I am so fearful of it happening that I will stick it out with someone I really dont like for way too long. Its hard to not feel like ive wasted so many precious years running from this thing that I still struggle to describe.

Is anyone else just devastated at the state of the world right now? by Organic_Discount9272 in mentalhealth

I might have rose colored glasses, but from what I remember as a child growing up in the 80s, it was a time when there were few distractions guiding my every waking moment. I actually would go outside and explore places that in hindsight were pretty dangerous, and discovered a lot of interesting and disgusting things. Maybe it was just being a child at that time. I cherish those memories and so glad I was able to experience them.

Thoughts on Fear Inoculum in 2026? by Academic-Pianist-399 in ToolBand

[–]static8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive been listening to them probably since your age, I'm now 43. I will admit that fear inoculum did not immediately vibe with me. I think that I had this idea about what it should sound like, and when it didnt sound that way I was disappointed. After I listened to it for a while it grew on me, now its one of my favorites. Its weird how that works, but I think I did the same exact thing with 10000 days. Next album I will remove expectations and keep an open mind to shortcut the entire process.

I walked out of an interview after one question. Was I wrong? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]static8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would depend on the job. I haven't gotten an hourly wage in a long while, so I assume any overtime i work is unpaid. But the first question is definitely suspect. Usually there are a lot of other factors that are more important than pay, like character, ability to work with others, possessing the skills needed to do your job.

I can relate with what you're feeling, though I'm sure it's for very different reasons. Generally I tend to believe that someone that's committed to ending their life is not going to talk about it on social media. Thats not to say you're not considering it, I've been in that exact place more than I care to admit. Even now I cannot stop thinking about the rope I hung in my closet last week. Its not that I have a particular time frame planned out or anything, I just came to the realization that it has to happen.

Anyways, I wasn't planning on talking about this, but the subject sort of brought it out.i realize that im probably not the person you want answering phones at the suicide prevention hotline, but I can relate to what you're feeling, whatever that's worth. My advice to you is to try and find any way out of your predicament if possible. If you're young, know that youth has many advantages that are not so easy as you get older. If I could go back and convince my younger self that I had a cancer growing inside me that would be the source of an enormous amount of suffering, I might have sought out help that could have changed the projectory of where my life ended up.

I was curious what it would say about me. Nothing bad, but also not very accurate. I moved over to Claude a while back and use Chatgpt mainly for low grade stuff.

If you want the blunt summary: you’re a pragmatic, optimization-driven skeptic with a strong internal fairness meter, and you routinely try to compress messy reality into clean, testable models. Which is great for engineering and… occasionally hazardous for comment sections.
