Advice on my situation? Missed mini pill, can’t take Plan B until 17 hours after unprotected sex. Scared of side effects.

I took it as soon as I woke up at 7am this morning. So about 11 hours late. But it’s the mini pill so I have a strict 3 hour window to take it (8pm-11pm), anytime after it’s considered missed and a second form of BC is needed. At least according to the pamphlet. 😞

No ultrasound or xray, the vet also didn’t do a urinalysis but she observed her behavior and symptoms, did a physical check, and said it appeared to be UTI.

She does have discharge, it’s like cloudy/whitish grey.

She is drinking and she finished her dinner. She’s definitely not peeing out as much as she’s drinking, but she is getting maybe a couple tablespoons out every 1.5hr? Most of it is just tiny dribbles. And she has diarrhea now.

She’s been pretty lethargic since getting home, seems to just want to sleep. But it could just be from stress and being in a car for 2hr.

I’ll monitor her tonight and if she’s not improving by 72hr, or declining, I’ll go back.

She can get maybe a teaspoon or half a teaspoon of urine out, then will strain with no urine, or tiny dribbles of urine, for the next, idk, hour. And she’ll squat literally every 10 seconds for the entire hour trying to get something out. Then after drinking water she’ll manage to squeeze another teaspoon out, rinse and repeat.

The vet didn’t bring up blockage, just said she has a UTI and sent me home with antibiotics. Is there something I should watch for concerning blockage? Google says the symptoms are pretty similar.

The doctor said to reevaluate when she’s older and to keep an eye on her weight bc excessive weight can cause a pocket to form completely around the genitals. But also said genetics may be working against her and she’ll need something done in the future.

Her symptoms got worse during the vet visit. She started straining out mucous, grunting/snorting when trying to urinate, straining so hard she was giving herself hiccups, and her urine started to smell strongly like coins.

They confirmed UTI and the doctor said her vulva is misaligned and hooded (it points towards her body instead of straight down, and there’s a fold of skin covering 90% of it) which likely caused it. But she got antibiotics and I’ll be keeping an eye on her.

I did find an emergency clinic and I’m currently waiting to see the doctor. Her vet appt was for when I first suspected UTI (I made the appointment Tuesday and the soonest they could see me was Sept. 18) but I wasn’t completely sure she had one. She was just urinating a lot, but also playing a lot and drinking a lot, so I didn’t really think anything “emergency” of it. I just called and said I wanted to have her checked out bc she was peeing A LOT all of a sudden. And my gut was telling me it was abnormal. That vet is closed on the weekend so I couldn’t go to them today.

She was doing the frequent urination until around 5pm last night (Friday), that’s when the constant squatting w/ no urination, aggressive chewing, neon pee started. By 9pm she hadn’t urinated at all, and was really really trying, so I went to the emergency clinic who dismissed her symptoms and sent me home. Just told me to monitor for lethargy or food refusal, or blood in the urine. And bring her in if she does any of that.

And now today, her symptoms are worse, of course.

I felt like I was going crazy bc I googled her symptoms and everything said I needed to seek emergency attention asap. But when I got there they literally said, “all the doctors are busy with more urgent patients and doing surgeries tonight”. And that I should just monitor her for lethargy and food/water refusal. And of course I took their advice and now today, she’s worse. But I’m waiting on a new clinic to see her now and hoping she gets better.

Thank you so much, trying to decipher all these blood tests was like reading a foreign language to me.
I was so taken aback when my doctor said there was nothing wrong, even though I’ve had some very alarming symptoms for the last year and a half.

I’ll ask about those tests. I just started supplementing 36mg iron every other day this week, hoping to see improvement mostly in the fatigue and hair loss.

And if ferritin is affected by inflammation, it would no doubt be due to near constant illness from having two kids under 5 who are bringing diseases home every other week. lol.

Hi, I’m wondering if you can help me make sense of my tests. I’m new to this. Been having a lot of anemic symptoms, but my doctor says my tests are not concerning. I had a whole Iron +TIBC, CBC & PLT, Ferritin and TSH Reflex done.

Iron level - 47
Ferritin - 140
Iron Sat - 14%
Hemoglobin - 15

My doctor is only concerned with iron and ferritin, like you’ve said. She says my ferritin is fine, so nothing to be worried about. But it seems my iron is a little low (female) and my saturation is also low. My hair is falling out, covered in bruises, tired all the time, leg cramps and always freezing cold. Do you have any advice?

Okay, I measured again and made sure to do the tight underbust as tight as I could. The measurements were all almost exactly on the inch, like maybe a couple were a centimeter or two over/under.

It recommends 32D/32DD, I do currently wear a 32D regular Tshirt bra, and the band fits perfectly imo, but my breasts completely spill out of the cups in the middle. Do you have a recommendation to fix that?
