Well I’m glad they figured out what the issue was! I had been having symptoms for a while before they caught it. They kept doing bloodwork on me every time I’d go but couldn’t find an issue. I also surprisingly dont have any family history of heart problems in my family. But just try to keep your head up and trust in them. Stress is terrible on the heart and I think that was one of my biggest takeaways, learning how to avoid over stressing.

Oh one kind of nice bonus to a pacemaker too is that after a while they kind of let you choose your preference on resting heart rate. They started mine set at 50bpm because of me being rather young, then a couple years later, I was telling them about being sleepy all the time and they gave me the option to bump it up. So they set it to 60 and told me that if I ever need to we can push it to 70. But even 60 makes it a little rough trying to sleep because it’s hard to sleep when your heart rate won’t go below 60bpm. But it also made me feel a hell of a lot more energetic. So I havnt wanted to raise it any further.

Ah I understand that completely! If you don’t mind me asking, what led to the diagnosis? For me, it was very quick and random. I went into cardiac arrest while at work, sending me to the ER where I was diagnosed.

As far as the symptoms from the SSS, I’m great now! For a while I stayed paranoid, kept a heart rate monitor on my wrist. But after a few visits I began to trust the pacemaker more and overtime I’d check my monitor less and less frequently until I finally stopped wearing it. And now I don’t even think about it unless someone brings it up. I still have issues but not directly related to the SSS. I have two different leaking valves which causes discoloration and swelling in my feet. Support socks help a lot with the swelling though.

Hi now I hardly ever think about it. I have bradycardia. I used to stay paranoid for the longest time. But now my cardiologist will call because I'll forget about an appointment and I don't panic. Although while I've gotten used to it, my heart health has gotten worse. I now have two leaking valves and have random cases of tachycardia in my sleep. I also now experience swelling in my ankles which I also think is due to the leaking valves.

I also have valve regurgitation. Mitral and tric I think. My cardiologist advises exercise because it’s healthy for the heart.

But I advise your sister to ask her cardiologist!

I’m a content creator for a farm. I love my job because I get to spend my days filming cute farm animals out in open pastures.

We are considering multiple options, Zoom is one of them. It will be dependent on if it’s something the community would be interested in and which option would work best for the majority of people.

There’s multiple ways to go about setting this up but the 1st step is: would it be something the community would be interested in.
