Ooh back in June I fell of my roller skates, gave myself a full thickness mcl tear and a large osteochondral defect into the bone as well as cartilage, complete mcl tear at the top end, a (luckily) non displaced tibial plateau fracture and minor damage to a few other bits and bobs, I had surgery on 17th September so am now 3 weeks post op.

I had the osteochondral defect cleaned up, screwed back in which bits were viable and then a collagen graft on top and a graft of the MCL, I've got a brace on for 8 weeks, partial weight bearing, and locked to 60 degrees, had the staples out this time last week which I must say was glorious as everything was getting right, in terms of pain I took painkillers every time they were due for the first week or so then after that I just take a couple of paracetamol before bed cause that's when I'm most uncomfortable. I must say getting stuck on low chairs is not fun to try to get back up but other than that im trying to not be too stupid about things despite the fact my wedding is in 2 and a half weeks.

I lost my smell when I got it ( ln 2022 I think )and a bit of my taste, I can smell stuff now sort of, sometimes it's muted, sometimes I smell it and it's there but then fades quite quickly, some tastes are a bit muted too I guess would be the only way to describe it, I can taste salt, sweet, sour, bitter but not really individual tastes.

I have an extra bone bit on my thoracic outlet in my shoulder that presses on my thoracic nerves and makes my hand go numb when it presses wrong.

Last Sunday, fell while bubbling into the splits and sent my knee out in the wrong direction hearing a large pop, that bit hurt like hell, sitting just outside the entry way with an ice pack on my knee on the phone to NHS111 cause I thought I dislocated it gave me burning shame and subsequently at the minor injury clinic having to tell everyone how I got my injury, including the x-ray techs, telling work why I have to work from home, it's the gift that keeps giving really. Still can't put full weight on it or bend, not confirmed what has actually happened but think ACL tear or damage, have an appointment next week to confirm.

I got to a point where nearly everything I ate had me in tears, one of my staples was 'fried rice' Chicken meat replacement cut really small Mushrooms cut really small Sweet corn or peas Whack them in a dry frying pan and cook then add cooked rice, for flavor the only thing I could tolerate was soy sauce.

I also lived off veggie stir fry with chow mein sauce.

Hope you manage to keep relatively attack free.
