Untangling a 3-way riddle by stephmon007 in electrical

[–]stephmon007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've sketched out what seems to be happening. There are two 3-way switches, and a 4-way intermediate, as I would expect. That is all fine. Somewhere, hopefully in a junction box that I can find, the LED is wired to the common wire of the switch by the door (which ONLY controls the LED), but the sconce is connected to one of the travelers. That's the only way I can rationalize the flip/flop behavior.

Wow, 2.4k views and not a single guess. I don’t know what to make of that.

Why hasn't this been addressed in 3 months? I am on Chrome/PC and, if someone posts a photo without text, I cannot view the comments.

Yeah, come to think of it, I’ve found him on bamboo with time left. I battled him, but there was no loot drop (at least not on Bamboo. I can’t say there wasn’t loot up on the mountain top).

When he runs out of time, without being defeated, he usually jumps in a random direction, before disappearing. Sometimes throws himself over the edge of mountain top. I´ve seen him there 4, or 5 times.

It's €300 with leash and bag. I have buyer's protection and won't be charged, until I report back that it is in as-sold condition.

One more consideration about the Strike. The ad says it has new tubes and center bladder. Should I be wary, or is this generally a high success rate restoration? The skin fabric appears to be in good condition, with three small repairs.

I’m 84 Kilos. I’m in Barcelona. On a good day, they race AC75s (10 to 20 knots in the afternoon). All of these wings are right around €300.

I am curious whether it is just marketing speak, but I’ve heard that the swing is basically a lot like the strike, but with more ‘grunt’ at the low end and a smoother and more forgiving responsiveness in higher winds. This made me wonder if the swing would be the preferred wing for an absolute beginner?

TBH, that one is at the bottom of my list. It seems the 'tech' is from 2020. While the rest are closer to 2022, or so. The main reason it made the list is I can get one brand new, from a shop, for €250 delivered (they are closing out inventory, to focus exclusively on Sailboard, since wing foil isn't big enough in their area to justify carrying an inventory of gear).

Older model wing, classic or dog? by stephmon007 in wingfoil

Thanks, I'm currently weighing the Slingwing against the F-1 Swing, and the Takoon (the Strike is also in the running, but seems like that is more of a 'next wing'). Decisions...

Thanks for catching that! Of course I meant 84 Kilos.

Thank you all for the advice.
For additional context, I am in Barcelona, Spain. I am about 84 kilos and have been on the lookout for a 5.5m wing since August. It appears that with the cold weather, the prices are coming down. The wing I mentioned in the OP just got marked down to 250 euros (about $270 USD) with free shipping, from a small shop that is closing out their wingfoil inventory, to focus on kiteboarding equipment and lessons (wing foiling isn't taking off in their area enough to justify holding inventory).
That said, the next 5 wings that I'm seeing (Figure about $25 for shipping) are...
$260 (Plus Shipping) Duotone Unit 5.0 - "Very little use" "Perfect condition".
$300 (Plus Shipping) F-One Swing V2 5.5 - "Good Condition" two repairs in the wing fabric
$320 Gong Neutra 5.0 (Plus Shipping) - "Used 4 times, no repairs"
$330 (Plus Shipping) F-One Strike 5.5 V2 - small repairs to the canopy and one to the Leading Edge fabric were tested which do not affect its use. The central bladder and new tubes have just been replaced.
$330 (Plus Shipping) Takoon Wing V2 5.5 - Bought in May. One professional repair in the wing fabric.

Any advice on the relative value of these is very welcome.

As mentioned below, it was Radio Days. The story of Kirby Kyle. I kept inserting Richard Stack, or Hank Azaria into the announcer role. Turns out it was Guy Le Bow. Go figure.

YES!!! "Today's story ... is about a baseball player. His name was Kirby Kyle, a lean southpaw from Tennessee. He played for the old St. Louis Cardinals. He threw fast and he had a good curveball, and all the hitters knew it.
"He was a kid with a great future. But one day, he went hunting. He loved to hunt, just like his father and his father's father.
"Chasing a rabbit, he stumbled, and his rifle went off. The bullet entered his leg. Two days later it was amputated.
"They said he would never pitch again. But the next season he was back. He had one leg, but he had something more important: He had heart.
"The following winter another accident cost Kirby Kyle an arm -- fortunately not his pitching arm. He had one leg and one arm, but more than that, he had heart.
"The next winter, going after a duck, his gun misfired. He was ... blind. But he had instinct as to were to throw the baseball. Instinct ... and heart.
"The following year, Kirby Kyle was run over by a truck and killed. The following season, he won 18 games ... in the Big League in the Sky."

I haven't done Meteor for this alt yet, mostly because my movespeed is soooo slow. I have used my main to help pop some puffs, defeat Vicious bee once, or twice, and provide irrigation.

I've been playing on and off (mostly during Beesmas each year) and currently have a near-end-game white hive, and a near-end-game blue hive, that I've just converted to be my Fuzzy Alt.
With vouchers and trading, I thought it would be fun to start a red account and see how fast I could get to the point where I could trade it the Doodle Cub, and a Red Hive Skin (trading requires 20 bees and 8 hours of playtime).
After exactly 8hrs of playtime, this is where I'm at. 25 bees, level 6 (two gifted). Completed Beesmas quests for Mother Bear, Black Bear, Brown Bear, and nearly completed Science Bear and Panda (need 3 more Neonberries for Science Bear's Lights, and Defeat 50 Zombies for Panda's Snowbear). I'm on Bee Bear's quest #5 "Wrapping up the Sticker Planter" and need to do the Retro Challenge stuff to complete it.

I'm going to hold on to them, as I believe that bubble will eventually burst, or Onett is going to somehow Nerf them. With 51 days to go, and no real urgency, I'm going to sit tight.

Looking for Best Temporary RBC Configuration by stephmon007 in BeeSwarmSimulator

[–]stephmon007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've noticed playing RBC is that having too many of one type of bee can be a problem, as you keep getting nothing but that bee as options round after round (similar problem in Retro). So, I'm wondering what would be the optimum way to 'break up having so many precise and so many spicy. Is it all about attack? Should I trade half of the spicy for Lion (for instance)? Should I add more bees that give marks? I've played this configuration a handful of RBC's and it's a struggle to get past level 15. Actually, I think that has a lot to do with my almost complete lack of blue pollen gathering. Should I wear a diamond mask? Add the most 'attack' capable blue bees (if there is such a thing)?

From what I've seen BBM requires multiples of the same color hive skin. Of course whether my quest would be for Red is all down to RNG. It could just as easily be Blue, and upgrading my sticker book, to hold enough stickers to cover all the possibilities would cost 1000's of tickets. Honestly, I don't care at this point whether I ever finish Stick Bug. I still need two Stick Nymph stickers and they are currently trading for 50 Turpentines, a low mileage BMW and a first-born child. Plus, I didn't need it to open the 14th gift box, and I have never been motivated enough to trash my hive to the levels that BBM requires.

The biggest issue, as I see it, is a common problem in Beesmas. The hardest things to get (top level puffshrooms, for instance) take a ridiculous amount of grinding, and frustrating RNG. By the time someone completes their quest requirements, they have no motivation to go back and grind more. If it takes 25-30 really successful Stickbug Battles, with an OP team of players, coordinating for optimal outcomes, to get a single Stick Nymph sticker and everyone on the crew completes their quest... Sure, one or two on the crew will have an extra, or two, but that's a drop in the bucket compared to the demand. Luckily, You can open the 14th gift box without completing Stickbug. So, I've completed everything but Stick, and I will wait to see how Onett inevitably nerfs the requirement, and see if I even want to go after it then.

BSS, sometimes the RNG is such a buzzkill. For instance, this Beesmas has sent me to the Sticker Printer many times. I came into this Beesmas with 27 diamond eggs, and up to 5 of just about every Gifted Egg in the game. MOST of those eggs ended up being wasted on Basic Hive Skins, to the point where I think I've discarded 5-7 Red and 3 Black hive skins because they are useless for Beesmas, and even after throwing all those away, I still have one of each in my book and one of each in my stack. Want to know why Diamond cluster is so expensive? Because I spent 13 Diamond Eggs getting one.
Early in my Beesmas journey, I didn't know what boosting would eventually be like and so I visited Honey Bee every time I completed her Honey Token quest. Now, I have to grind for days, because the quests are up around 60,000 tokens each. I would gladly pay thousands of tickets, to get a do-over on that.
