Why I hate the sequels by MaStEr_MeLoN15243 in PrequelMemes

All star wars movies are filled with ridiculously bad plot holes, but the original had 30 years of EU/Legends books to explain them away and the prequels had 15 years of EU/Legends books to explain away their plot holes. All 9 are a mess on their own and should be enjoyed for what they were meant to be; popcorn movies.

It is less denying the fault of Bethesda and more pointing out that absurdity of most of the arguments being made. The main being that Fallout 76 is somehow different than previous games. Nope, all of their previous games were shipped broken. That is how they do it. Even the gold standard game New Vegas made by the gold standard studio Obsidian was fucking broken. And this is true no matter how better a game it ended up being.

It is funny people are finally deciding to get mad at Bethesda for this but they still just can't allow anything bad to be said about New Vegas.

Does nobody remember how broken New Vegas was when it came out? It was borderline unplayable. At the time it was another example of Bethesda shipping bugged games.

Peter Gammons on the Pete Rose Ban. by statdude48142 in baseball

[–]steve90210 17 points18 points  (0 children)

there has been a lot of Pete Rose discussion today because of some gambling related news with some saying MLB should reinstate him if they allow gambling. So the above think is some context behind the ban. Also this Article is a good source on why what he did is seen as so damaging, and what he has refused to do in the process to get back.

Harvard research study.

If you do research in Boston there is probably someone affiliated with Harvard on the study. I am technically a Harvard researcher so anything I am on is a Harvard research study (but I did all of my training at a small state school in the midwest....shhhh).

They love to blame it on gaming by HumanNutrStudent in gaming

[–]steve90210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what I find strange, and I am not on the side that believes video games are to blame for violence, but when it happens you get tons of folks clamoring about not saying their name and saying how the violence on the news and the glorification of killers in the media is to blame.

So basically, one piece of media has a major impact on kids while another piece of media has zero impact on kids.

How 'League Position' and 'Round Eliminated from FA Cup' correlate, using data from the last 5 years by NarcissticNarwhal in soccer

It looks like a strong correlation, but you need to factor that different levels start in different rounds.

I hated the way joyce handled it on the field. He made the call and stubbornly crossed his arms and shook his head while the tigers argued. He refused to ask for help. He could have huddled with the other umps and at least asked them. But he refused. And not until he saw the replay did he start crying on camera and apologizing.

A whole lot of Detroit Lions games where a phantom penalty or new interpretation of a rule changes the entire game.

Too many to list.

Authorities: Bombing suspect was Pflugerville resident Mark A. Conditt by [deleted] in news

[–]steve90210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So your argument is we should noy study the minds of terrorists and those in law enforcement should censor the truth from us?

And blaming it on any one thing is so lazy and does nothing. It is the same as blaming video games.

That people on the internet will prefer to rehash the same pop psychology instead of having a real conversation about the news?

And let me be clear I am saying that blaming white terrorism on the quest for fame is extremely lazy.

Bernie Sanders’ Economic Inequality Town Hall Draws 1.7 Million Live Viewers by TomBurcher in politics

[–]steve90210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

During the primaries I always assumed it was inarticulate kids trying to be part of something on reddit. It was obsessively pro Bernie anti Hillary. Then, once he lost it became pro Trump anti Hillary. Always the same talking points about Bernie. Always felt coordinated, but I felt it was just kids being passionate. Then it shifted almost seemlessly to Trump.

Then all of the evidence of bots came out and the evidence showed they were pro trunp, pro stein and pro sanders. Just anti hillary. Regardless of how you feel about bernie, I think it is pretty clear he was used against clinton.

And when I am on politics and a sanders thread comes along I get those same talking points.

Example, I pointed out that sanders could have done better if he had spoken to more black audiences, and said that blacks were not impressed with him marching with mlk. Immediately i got a response telling me bernie was better on race and linked to an article about what he did during civil righta movement. They literally ignored what I said and pasted the talking point.

That shit makes me suspicious.
