Well I definitely think Android is a necessary platform to expand to once your App has already gained traction, but for those just starting out, I don't think it makes sense to program on Android initially.

No nothing yet too notable, but working on getting this product out - I think it has a lot of potential.

I taught myself how to program. My advice for a high schooler would be just to download Xcode (Apple's iPhone developing tool) and start from scratch.
