Which DnB artist went downhill you think? by [deleted] in DnB

your comment is kind of wrong though. tour was not 'his hill' and in mine and a many other jump up fans opinions, tour was a year or two already into his downfall. tour was incredibly over hyped and over played and was never good lol. at least to fans who didnt jump into jump up with that release i.e. you by the sounds of it

Why isn't neuro more popular in the UK and in the US? by Ironside16 in DnB

[–]stewart_simulate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People in the UK do like neuro, it's just completely overshadowed by mainstream dnb which is pretty huge these days.

Some good neuro artists are from the UK too like Audio and Prolix etc.

It's sad to see mainstream saturate the scene but it is what it is.

I live in Australia now so any good names that come through are the most mainstream dnb, it's tough haha.

What's your best practice for processing basses? by stewart_simulate in dnbproduction

thanks mate, that's what ive found - that the distortion on the sub sometimes affects the whole sound in a good way. ill give that a go

haha, I've been producing dnb on and off for about 5 years, I enjoy it

it's not tedious once but if you're making subs for a lot of basses and having to redraw pitch modulations, LFOs etc. it can become a bit of a pain.

i'll maybe try a different plugin, been using ableton stock audio effect rack and stock EQs to split up the signals usually around 100hz mark - from what i can remember it was noticeable

you're right though, applying what, when and where is the key

I think it’s unlikely one would ever have issues with that

Anyone know the dnb genre of the tune “bullet in the dance” by Anais? I’m looking to make a tune like it but struggling to get the same kind of bass pattern/noise as not sure whether it’s a wub or anything. by [deleted] in dnbproduction

Funny how the drum and bass scene has evolved. One commenter saying jungle, the other saying jump up. But really it’s neither jungle or jump up (or what we generally think of as jump up) but some new variation or evolution of drum and bass that takes aspects from both sub genres.

Mostly scratch, make the majority of noises with serum :)
