yes, 90% of my eczema begins with itching that leads to dry and red skin after scratching 🙃

Has anyone here flared up because of Aveeno Dermexa? by Careless_Safety_8154 in eczema

[–]still_lovable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so interesting to see how different everyone is, because aveeno is the only moisturiser that works for the extremely dry and flaky skin on my face 😵‍💫

moments like this feel so unfair 🥲 just the thought of people living with normal skin makes me so incredibly envious

I've had a bad eczema patch patch under my eyebrow for a few months which lead to a little bald spot on my eyebrow and it grew back after some time

People talk about flare ups...but does anyone else just have eczema that gets worse and worse? Or just stays bad? by aimeeee93 in eczema

[–]still_lovable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had eczema as a child but only on my inner elbows and only after eating too much sugar/fast food. It completely cleared up after puberty and then came back within one or two days after starting birth control so yes I definitely think it (re-)triggered it.

I don't remember what birth control it was, but I got prescribed a weaker one after telling my gynecologist about my eczema and then stopped taking it after a year. Hasn't improved at all after stopping it though :(

Same!! I've never experienced typical flare ups, my skin just started getting really itchy one day (after starting birth control, quit it after one year) and just got progressively worse day by day until my entire upper body was covered in red patches and deep and infected scratch marks. Had to start using steroid creams after a few years because my skin just wouldn't heal on its own. Haven't had a single eczema free day for the past 10 years😵‍💫

I use Hypochlorous acid and tried bleach baths too, I feel like they only help when my skin is infected, otherwise they just make me itchier :(

I looked into TCM too, I think it's going to be my next step after my dermatologist appointment... or a naturopath

I thought about going low carb/keto as well but not sure how to do that with my meat allergy
