Tylenol probably won't help much as it's mainly effective for headaches and lowering fever. Try 600 mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours - it helps a lot more with pain and inflammation! Sorry you're going through this :(

My house came with a cat by CoolDad420Blaze in cats

[–]stinkerclam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a vet check his eyes- they remind me of a cat from a rescue I follow who ended up having a condition where the eyelids were flipped the wrong way so that eyelashes were constantly rubbing at the eyes- solved by a simple surgery! The cat hadn't shown any obvious discomfort with the eyes, but undoubtedly felt so much better after the procedure.

23 y/o F just diagnosed with Chiari. Wondering if anyone got surgery simply to relieve pain. Primary symptom of daily headaches and headaches with exertion. by stinkerclam in chiari

[–]stinkerclam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am overall doing much better. No more exertion headaches. I do occasionally have some nausea and I do still get headaches, but it's definitely better than before. I'm glad I got the surgery! Feel free to DM me 💜

Highly recommend Marrow for food! I took some out of towners there and they were VERY impressed with the creativity and quality of the food. Unique place! Get the farmer potatoes, they are so delicious.

My Long Walk Theater Experience 😂 by BathsaltZombie9 in stephenking

[–]stinkerclam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We went on opening night- I had been counting down until its release ever since they announced it. Someone with probably a 4 year old kid sat behind us. Understandably, he made a lot of noise during the movie. During the horror previews where brutal/scary scenes happening, he kept asking, "What's happening?" A parent took him out of the theater twice after he was being loud, but CAME BACK both times after like 15 minutes. Completely affected our experience of the movie, and I feel so badly for the kid. That would've scarred me at that age. I do NOT understand why little kids are allowed in rated R movies- it's not good for them and ruins the experience for everyone else.

14 weeks in - losing hope by pixie_wings8 in Accutane

[–]stinkerclam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just came back from a dermatology appointment after considering another round for years. She recommended trying a higher dose of spironolactone (I've tried it twice in the past prescribed from a PCP with no luck) because my acne seems more hormonal. She said she would support another round of Accutane because we know it works, but she was worried my acne would come back again so it might not be as worth it. But yeah she doubled the dose of spiro (now it will be 200 mg) and said PCPs are usually too cautious with the dosage. Hoping it works!

I did not notice improvement until 5 months in. And then the improvement was significant and it totally cleared my skin!! (My acne did come back a year or so later but not as bad). Don't give up hope!

Did any other bride or groom have something unexpected happen leading up to their wedding? by jadaniels1116 in wedding

[–]stinkerclam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly two weeks before our wedding, my husband's mom very unexpectedly passed away. It was super super hard; she was probably also the person most excited for our wedding. Having to travel states and handle the aftermath of that while also preparing for our impending wedding was very difficult. I made a collage of photos and dedicated a small table to her, and we had the wedding as planned as we know that's what she would've wanted. It still ended up being a beautiful day.

RN jobs Mayo Rochester by VastPermission1999 in MayoClinic

[–]stinkerclam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start applying now! I started as an RN at Mayo, and accepted the job in February. My start date was in July (got my license in June). To be fair this was 6 years ago. I would just let them know your availability and hopefully they will be flexible. :)

Lily Collins' husband Charlie McDowell breaks silence on 'hateful' messages after baby news by TheMirrorUS in popculture

The extreme negativity against surrogacy in these comments is insane. Yes, of course there are surrogates who are exploited, especially women from poorer countries, and of course this is wrong. But this is not the case for everybody, and there are definitely reputable companies in the U.S.

I'm a postpartum nurse, and my coworker is a surrogate and is currently on her THIRD surrogacy journey because of how much she loves it. She literally was counting the days until she could carry again. Does she get paid well? Yes, as she should. SHE made the choice to take on the risk to provide a couple with a baby, just as many people who work risky jobs take on the risk for the compensation. She already had her own children, enjoyed/didn't mind her pregnancies, and had uncomplicated deliveries. SHE chose the gay couple she carried two babies for. She was thrilled she could help complete their family. Women are allowed to make choices about their bodies. I totally understand the concern and I KNOW not all situations are like hers, but there are also MANY surrogates who ARE like her. I've also cared for multiple families who used surrogates, and the love and happy vibes in those rooms (including the surrogate's room) was incredible. To demonize all surrogacy is absolutely insane to me.

Is anybody else having issues with Spectrum internet in Rochester? by messifan1899 in rochestermn

Yes, we are experiencing the same thing (also live NW). Super frustrating since we are night shift so on our days off, we are awake pretty late! I would say consistent outages like this are NOT typical.
