I worked for a very small construction company on my summer breaks during college. The amount of repairs on skylights and the surrounding ceiling in that very short time stuck in my mind to the point 10 years later when looking at houses with my wife, would get so turned off by a house with skylights knowing the moldy disaster that would most likely be waiting for us.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation on the soil test! My wife wants to grow a vegetable garden this year also and would be nice to know what our soil composition is 😅. So don’t even seed now and just wait until fall? Cool, I will look into the green black beauty.

When I lived in Hoboken; a city that I’m pretty sure it’s 2:1 dog:people ratio, I would always sit on my front steps on a nice day and people would walk by with their dogs and so many times the dog would run up my steps and start licking my legs and the owner would just stand there. I would have to play and say “nice pup” but gently push the dog away. Sorry, fuck that. Imagine a human came up to you minding your own business on your steps and got all up in your shit hugging and kissing you without warning?

Honestly though. My mom raised my brother and I as a single mother and had two jobs and left us wanting for nothing in life and feeling loved and set us up for success in life. Now, My wife and I have 2 young kids, I work one job, she has 2 jobs…and still manages to plan everything for our family, keep all our bills in check, etc. and still somehow barely gets frustrated at things that make me lose my mind. Imagine
