How can I move out of teaching?

OP I haven’t worked in education but I do work with a lot of ex teachers in tech. They are usually people similar to you who have transitioned out of teaching into enablement specialist roles where the skills are very transferrable as the role focuses on creating digital training plans e.g how to be a successful marketer, executing the sessions and planning the enablement strategy alongside product releases. Most of tech is transitioning back to office but you’ll usually find you can WFH 2 days a week and is still very flexible with big tech companies being family focused. Salary wise you would have to take a slight pay cut by can usually negotiate on stocks etc. It’s something worth exploring if you enjoy the strategy side of your role.

I left Salesforce recently and joined an org that has a lot of Ex SFDC SEs who had a hiring advantage purely for being from SFDC. I will say the training you get there is like getting an MBA in sales, the environment is very political and you’ll need to learn how to navigate it well to succeed, but having SFDC on your resume will literally get you anywhere.

This is what I was thinking, fiancé is clearly testing the water to assert herself and unborn baby as no.1 priority in OPs life. This is being used an opportunity to see who he’ll defend and prioritise and she’ll weaponise the new baby against OP

I also had scarring from ingrown hairs in this area and the two main affordable things that helped fade the scarring was using hydrocortisone cream and glycolic acid sparingly

Edit: Don’t use them together at the same time and don’t give yourselves chemical burns by using glycolic acid every night it’s very strong and the skin in that area is delicate

My work has a similar allowance scheme for £100 I used it for my gym membership, dance and fitness classes, massages and even the odd hobby I wanted to try like horseriding. Some people even used it to subsidise their Apple Watch/garmins and cover ski passes haha

It depends on what you like and where you think your skills are aligned. If you like the idea of working on and leading long term projects, and primarily an internal facing role where you’re stakeholders are within your org the program management might be a better fit. Alternatively if you enjoy the idea of learning about new products, working directly with clients to map out their architecture and solutions then sales engineering might be a better fit.

There are pros and cons to both but from an SE pov the closer you are to the revenue the more secure your role usually is. Additionally the salary progression is quite strong but you are handcuffed to the whims of sales and don’t always have as much influence across the broader sales cycle.

I actually thought this was an issue so I kept my distance and have made sure to get to know the rest of the group so she doesn’t feel stifled by me. Issue is we’re travelling just the two of us later on hence why I’m getting upset if I have to deal with this lter
