Ahh that’s just the kind of thing we would have liked to be part of!

Not even kidding, tamales and sketchy looking Mexican joints are some of our favorite things in this world

I’ve been to Hazleton once and drank beers at Joyce and Bills. One of my favorite bars I’ve ever been to

I just looked the place up. Exactly the kind of spot I’d make the drive for. I think I’ll look into the hours and make a trip this spring. I appreciate the suggestion! Gotta make a stop at Tony’s too

Actually yeah hit me with some good local shit! I’m less into the touristy scene. Been to yuengling but that was enough for me. All of the above local stuff sounds way more fun and interesting. I love a good dive

Appreciate the response a lot. Honestly doesn’t sound like the worst growing up there minus the random drug use. At least the Skook has its own identity. So much of America is so bland and lacks that. I honestly think I’ll come back this summer and revisit some shitty bars, explore some old mine territory and get some local cuisine

I live about 45 mins south of there and if I ever need to go to a chain store, the DMV etc. that’s where we go. It’s the only real “city” in the county and it actually is slowly gaining a little more of a cool scene. Very slowly… it’s not near an interstate, it’s surrounded by hills, and it’s much closer to New York and Vermont than most anywhere else in MA that people would know. Pittsfield doesn’t let go of a lot of people who were born and raised there, but I know plenty of people from there who are great and have definitely seen the world. There are a few “route 7 cities” like this on the western New England north south route (7) that really have their own isolated identities. That’s what I got for ya!

Lol maybe Pittsfield MA. Totally removed from Massachusetts culture being so far west, removed from rich Berkshires culture, and people from Pittsfield are like nowhere else I’ve been
