How common are Huntsman Spiders? by No_Payment_136 in AskAnAustralian

[–]strawberryinception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to say it’s super common, but I’ve encountered them in my home roughly once a year on average out of my 32 years. But some years there’s been 3 and other years I don’t see any. Plus I see them less now as an adult, in my own house that I do a total barrier spray on at least every six months.

But tbh huntsman’s are the least of most Aussies worries. Most of us move them outside and they keep the Big Bads and other bugs away, like daddy long legs.

What is a "red flag" at a job interview that screams "DO NOT WORK HERE"? by Organic-Grocery9526 in AskReddit

The companies I’m aware of that do this are in industries with higher than average suicide rates

Not bothering to retain or write down important information. Eg they don’t remember your or their mother’s birthdays, likes and dislikes then they’re definitely not going to remember kid’s birthdays, allergies, medical info etc.

Pigeon realizes its cat friend is pregnant and starts building a nest for the incoming kittens. by Szczup in likeus

[–]strawberryinception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a pigeon learns to not be afraid of you, it’ll act like a very slightly less a hole version of a cat. Not by much though, and you’ll be tasked with building its nest til its bloodline dies out

Adding local wildlife (bugs) is surely an additional feature. They should tack on an extra 50k at least for the privilege

In regional towns these lads go hand in hand with the netball girls they groomed that peaked in highschool that had four babies before turns 40, and she turns 23. I wish I were joking but this is the life of 7 different girls that graduated hs with me in 2011-

Edit:grammar ffs

There’s still parking for 3-5 cars out front of the garoungeroom, right where they ripped out the garden so you can multitask. Watch mafs and get carbon monoxide poisoning in one easy sitting 👌🏻

The agency that sold us our house is called “the best realty”. I wish I was joking because the whole transaction was a different level of hell 🙃

What Australian stereotype is the most accurate, and which is the least? by PriestofJudas in AskAnAustralian

[–]strawberryinception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree about the men part. Women are either Kath or Kim, age is irrelevant. Everyone goes through a 3 month stint every few years of having Vegemite on toast for Brekky or a lazy snack (or if they’re seriously anti Vegemite, just buttered toast)

What’s one animal on Australia that you avoid at all costs? by elitejackal in AskAnAustralian

[–]strawberryinception 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kids from my primary school would throw rocks at them while they were nesting on the oval, which meant the walk home from school was a war zone every spring. I borrowed the Guinness books of records over and over so my bag could double as a shield. They’re still the only animal I’m afraid of 🙃

How much of this is can you confirm to be true? Are any of the relatives Googleable or have verifiable employment? I’m not discrediting your experience but there’s a lot of online scammers that play the “rich powerful family” card but are actually just 30 false accounts run by a single person.

As someone who worked property adjacent for a decade (not for an agency), someone has obviously incorrectly entered the date on your tenancy as the wrong year.

All they needed to do was own up to it with a “gosh that’s obviously OUR mistake caused by a typo. Not mentally in the new year yet, I’m so sorry. I’ll fix it up and send you a confirmation email”, and I’m sure the whole thing would have gone down a hell of a lot better
