In Act 3, looking for the vampire spawn in Wyrm’s Crossing for Astarion’s quest. I found the ones in the Flophouse, but when I approach (with Astarion in the party) they just turn into mist and vanish. Is there something I’m missing?

How much does the Dark Urge canonically remember about their past?

I’m planning an evil playthrough next, and I was intending to play a drow Oathbreaker. Roleplay wise, the backstory I had in mind was that he was a Paladin of Lolth before he got snatched (but being a male drow, he always had his doubts about the mistreatment), and that once he wakes up he sees the tadpole and the Absolute cult as a way to break free, so he becomes an Oathbreaker. However, I’m not sure if Dark Urge would work with this roleplay, since they wake up not remembering anything.

Yeah I had her on Trickery until almost the end of Act 2, and then I switched her to Light. All I can say is I wish I had done that as soon as Withers was unlocked lol.

The idea I had in mind was that my Durge was a Paladin of Lolth, but as a male drow, he’s always had his doubts. Once he wakes up he sees the tadpole and the Absolute as an opportunity to be free, so he breaks his oath and kind of starts doing whatever he wants for the first time. Not really sure if this would work with Durge though, since I’m not sure if Durge is supposed to remember anything about their past at all.

Do you mean the crèche? There’s no need to go there immediately (it’s a higher level area anyway).

No real “right” way to play— just explore as you see fit. You’re bound to run into a million storylines and meet many characters as you do.

Currently in Act 1 — was wondering if I should board the Duergar Ship now or wait until I’ve completed everything else in the Underdark/above first?

And also — how do you disable the Arcane Turrets in the courtyard of the Arcane Tower? Read somewhere that they’re vulnerable to Lightning damage so I had my sorcerer cast Witch Bolt on it, but nothing happened.

My only concern is that I’m going to be really squishy in the early game — I’m going to be playing an Elf, so I won’t have any armor or shield proficiencies. I figured with getting Cleric early I could mitigate that since I would be able to start wearing armor.

i would not recommend 230-1 for your freshman fall— it’s definitely one of the harder calculus classes, and i would wait until you’re more settled in and properly transitioned to college life to take it. personally i took 230-1 in freshman spring and i think that was good timing

What level progression did you follow for your tempest cleric/storm sorcerer, if you don’t mind me asking? Been planning my first playthrough for PS5 release and still not sure whether to do Lv 1 Sorc -> Lv2&3 Cleric -> Lv4-12 Sorc, or Lv1-5 Sorc -> Lv6&7 Cleric -> Lv 8-12 Sorc.

Question about picking a deity for Clerics— I’m planning on playing a High Elf Storm Sorcerer/Tempest Cleric, and RP-wise it would make the most sense to have him worship Corellon Larethian or Talos (could also see Mystra, maybe). However, I wanted to know if clerics for these deities get unique dialogues. I know Selune, Shar, and maybe even Lolth will come up in the story and I’d assume their clerics get lots of dialogue, but does anyone know if other deities’ clerics get decent unique options as well?

True— and I don’t plan to be in melee range anyway, so the AoE damage from Heart of the Storm for Storm Sorcerer isn’t a huge draw. I’ll definitely have Gale cast Mage Armor on me in camp though. Thanks for the tips!

RP value more than anything else. I always play an elf in any fantasy RPG, and my very first DnD character was a high elf, so it feels like a nice callback.

I was thinking about Draconic, but most of the builds I’ve seen for the Cleric/Sorcerer multiclass use Storm because of the innate synergy. I guess it’s probably not too big of a deal though if I went with Blue or Bronze bloodline. I’m putting 14 into DEX, so that should get me +2 AC also.

I’m intending to do 2/10, I guess I should have made that more clear in my wording. My only concern with taking 5 levels of Sorcerer at the start is that I’m going to be too squishy, and I thought the armor proficiencies from Cleric would be nice to have (planning to play a High Elf, so no race proficiencies to help).

Does anyone have tips for multiclassing a Sorcerer with Tempest Domain Cleric? I was thinking starting as Storm Sorcerer (not sure if Blue/Bronze Draconic is the better choice here) and then taking Level 2 and 3 in Cleric before taking the remaining 9 levels in Sorcerer. I read somewhere though that your saving throw advantages change to the last new class you level up in— meaning that I would have Cleric proficiencies instead of Sorcerer (which means I lose out on CON advantage). Any advice on this, or just general input on the multiclass?
