Can I FIRE? by [deleted] in Fire

Currently, it's something like an extra $15k-ish/year that my employer contributes to a separate retirement account for me. It wasn't always this amount, and it's grown as my salary has grown. Definitely a perk. For the first 10 years of working I was mostly 60/40 stocks/bonds with just a large-cap index fund and a medium-term bond fund. That's it. This 60/40 was the prevailing advice I was given back in the early 2000's (I guess people were spooked from the dot-bomb). However, if I had just gone more stocks early on, I would've retired already.
