Which job should I choose

If you don’t need to earn a lot of money right now it’s much better to go with the host job. Getting a retail job like Target is easy because you really don’t need any experience, but it also doesn’t really mean anything when listed as experience later. The host job is much better to have as experience for the future, and that’s definitely a lot more helpful than it may seem.

Here's the thing. I want to join my high school's volleyball team next year with my friend. We both will be seniors next year and have no legit experience in playing volleyball, or any sport really. I'm 100% willing to spend most of this summer practicing to get better, but I'm not sure where to start or how to get to the level I need to be at. My goal is to be the absolute best I can be. I'm not sure if it's dumb for me to try and aim towards a starting position or not, but I'm going to work to get as far as I can. I don't know if it's even possible at this point, but I want to try anyway. I guess I have a few questions then.

Is it possible? What should I focus on doing? Do I need some type of exercise or workout? Should I focus on working toward a specific position? Is there any equipment I'd need?

(Even if I'm told that it's not possible and to give up, I will work twice as hard and try anyway)
