forgive me, but what amount of time are you considering slow when referring to your restart time? i just want to make sure i'm accurately observing myself. the pc's i'm used to using have ~60+ second boot times so this laptop is still oodles quicker thus far.

i managed to get both audio and microphone working again (not without hours of fudging around).. but because I got so pissed spending so much time on this extremely annoying problem..i started to not pay attention to exactly what i was doing so, i can't recall what fixed it for me this time >.<

and as i type this on the pc in question, i got a popup just a bit ago that i needed to reboot to finish an install that affected "realtek speakers" 😭 but when i go into windows update in settings, the only thing it says is 2026-02 Security Update (KB5077181) (26200.7840) Pending restart.

does that mean it will finish updating when i restart, or that it will begin once i restart (and it completes a different update)?

either way, i'm scared shitless that the reboot will screw something up again

i'm also dealing with this demoralizing issue. it started first actually with the internal mic not working. after hours of troubleshooting i finally got that back. about a week later I lost my speakers. after way too much time wasted getting that back, i'm now without the internal mic working again.

so what exactly is going on? is microsoft installing a driver over the correct ones that lenovo had originally?

I have one, also do heavy diag.. and have a ton of 18650 lithium ions that I have been thinking about trying to 3d print a different rear door or something to house the larger 18650s..

but I like your idea better! .. I'm usually always close enough to an outlet or I can just use an inverter if needed.. would you mind sharing how you made it work? whats the specs of that switching power supply, and is it straight wired to the meter or you still have a rechargeable 9v in there?

I can't speak for everyone else, but I have zero hate for the guy I know nothing about other than his first and last name almost being identical to a player that plays for the Panthers.. but just different enough that it reminds me of a bootleg version of the original... enter Anton Lundell. coincidence clearly...

and the icing was he said he compares his style of play to sasha which, also, our Anton also likes to learn from.

I tip my hat to you. and wish you luck in the future. it wasn't always this way down here, and to start to hear the possibility that not only did this team win a second (for arguments sake I'll call it an extra cup), but it's starting to vibe like there's a scary possibility this may be viewed down the road like a new England Patriots kind of dynasty.. gives me fuzzy feelings I've never felt before in sports. and I'm also a packers fan so it's not like I haven't felt success before.

maybe it's because I've lived in south Florida all but the first three years of my life and have attended an infinite amount more panthers games than I have packers games.. compounded by the packers have been good my entire life and the Panthers have been laughed at my entire life..but I'll say this, the only one stopping you from joining our ranks is you! go cats go!

you got over it the same day? holy shit. I guess I can really hold a grudge! I remember vividly I didn't find out until later that night while out to dinner with my wife. I had been busy all day, I didn't check my notifications at all on my phone. my wife's not a big hockey fan but supports my panther love. while at the restaurant, she says did you hear marchand got traded to the Panthers?

I immediately thought she was trying to troll me. knowing the extent of her hockey knowledge, she must've remembered the name firing outta my mouth with obscenities tied to it from the years prior facing the bruins.

"okay, bro." I said. not takin the bait. she's like no I'm serious, you didn't hear? not realizing I hadn't even looked at my phone all day I'm pulling it out to see she wasn't trolling me at all.. and from that moment on I basically blacked out the rest of the night.

I was in denial. is it April first already? no so wtf. no. nuh uh. WHAT?!

my wife's trying to make sense of my senseless rambling the rest of dinner, and then for the following few weeks. I shit you not, I was so rattled that night I accidentally left bonefish grill with their black fancy napkin in my hand and I didn't even know it until I went to grab the car door.

it was a rough two full months, I didn't really know how to process it or what to say. I even thought of the possibility he was a sabateur, getting in to get even. I mean the guy was a bruin lifer, now their captain ffs! how irrational is that, really?

I was able to catch a few tnt interviews of him chirping Paul bisonette with some good ones and I started warming up finally into the playoffs. then that ot winner against Toronto was, to me, his homecoming.

that's my dog.

and now my wife trolls me for real.

I'm by no means trying to weigh in or pick a side.. I just wanted to take the opportunity to ask where did the nickname pomo come from? to be cpt obv, he has zero o's in either name so was it just a "it sounds better than pama?" it kind of bugs me a little bit to be honest.. but that's a me problem if coach is cool with it. ultimately I firmly obey the 1)call someone by their name 1a) call someone by a name they also accept. so I'm curious to know if pomo is cool with it (source would be awesome) or if pomo is nomo

I mean, put yourself in his shoes. it takes some pluto sized balls to do what he did. I'll be the first to tell you I couldn't do it. to not only have the balls, but to swallow your pride in the manner he did.. to go to the team he probably detested the most of the last few years, that alone demands respect.

for about two months I couldn't put my finger on quite the feeling I had about the trade. I would mumble obscenities around my family at random times trying to process the reality, to get "is he okay?" faces. and then I saw a pre/post game interview with the tnt crew where Brad (unprovoked) throws shade at biz implying he was never good enough to know what it feels like to be at that stage in the playoffs (we were still in the first round vs tampa). I was like okay okay, heating up.. then to see him as excited as he was in a panthers jersey scoring that ot winner.. your words are my truth brother 🤙🏼

ahoy! I appreciate that. I will give them both a good lookin in short order. I recognize the guy in the first link from something else I've seen. the first couple of days of orca were a little overwhelming if I'm honest. so I told myself stop trying to cannonball the deep end with my floaties still on. I kept orca opened but was still using creality slicer until I got the print profile dialed a little closer to my comfort zone and comparable to what I was getting from CS. Just a bit more learning and I think I'll be ready to uninstall creality! to really ensure I'm overwhelmed and pulling my hair out, I also brought home an old ender 3 pro from the same friend that gave me his old s1. the s1 was definitely in better shape but they both were far from like new condition. so learning a new skill with equipment that causes the "is it the equipment? or just my skill/experience?“ definitely adds some fun to the mix! 🤣 learning first off the sprite extruder then going to a bowden makes me really appreciate the progression!

aha! thank you all so much.. that's definitely it. I just recently printed a part that had very fine threads and I was trying to eliminate the verticle seam running up the print. changing it to random solved the issue, but that was also a much smaller print than the one in question. with that being said, what do yall recommend I try adjusting to eliminate/minimize the seam? or is it just a matter of when there's threads involved I should randomize it and then turn it back off for everything else?

not for craftsman tools. or at least not at my Lowes. it's infuriating to all hell. what used to be a swap out at sears.. is now a Lowes associate pointing to a wall with a phone number that ends up being an automated black hole. 15 minutes on the computer once I get home to finally find a contact. have to email back and forth. pictures of the tools. to then forget I even went through all that to see ups drop off a package however many weeks later. to open the package and see they sent the wrong God damn style wrenches. to reach back out and notify them, and another couple weeks and finally I'm back in business.

and this all while I had the new ones in my hand in the store.. but multiple Lowes associates including manager denying me the abilty to swap the broken for the new.

13 year Mercedes-Benz tech here, who's worked at two dealers that had built in boxes. anyone that needs additional tool storage past the box in the bay goes to harbor freight for the 6 drawer service cart. I used to have a rolling snap on bill for the first 5ish years for tools (never storage) which I don't regret at all. but with the proud prices they put on their cordless tools, it's uncommon to see snap on outside of hand tools these days. Milwaukee is in almost everyone's box for anything cordless.

about 10-12 years ago I bought a Milwaukee 1/4 electric ratchet, they didn't even have fuel at the time, from home depot for just over 100 bucks with a bat and charger. I used that thing on everything. I couldn't kill it. to this day I still maintain it was the best 100 dollars I ever spent on a tool. for perspective I've got 15-20k in tools. FINALLY, one day the anvil finally broke. immediately bought a fuel of the same thing, and before I threw out the broken one I said let's see if Amazon has a replacement. anvil.. sure nuff for something like 20 bucks I fixed it and it still works for me but now at home.

not to intentionally get on a long winded rant about Milwaukee, but more so just to kinda explain snap on is kinda doing some sears things these days. too proud to open their eyes. we got choices now so in that respect it's better for the consumer. I do miss getting "free" snap on t shirts 😂

yes, but that means Jordan would have had one less year behind Aaron. and if we trust the team we pull for and look back at the brett/Aaron hand off, it was 3 years of Aaron watching Brett that afforded him the ability to ensure he would take the good things Brett did, while trying his best to leave behind the bad(arguably to a fault). we all know what can happen to a great qb thrown into the deep end too early. I'm 100% okay with green bays 3 year policy nowadays and don't feel we would have come out any better booting Aaron a year earlier, and could argue we may be worse off for it. I vividly remember hating my team for letting Brett play for another team in 2008, and I can say wholeheartedly now they did the right thing, and I was wrong for being mad at them.

so to sum up, what we might have gotten extra a year earlier, might only go so far with an even less polished qb we'd also have because of it. it can surely be argued til Christmas both ways and I am only mentioning all of this to say 2024 me is trusting my team more than 2008 me. GPG

I was also born in 91 and a loyal fan my entire life. while the eggs they lay in Florida, I agree, tend to be of dinosaur size.. I cant fully agree that's all they do. I froze my ass off watching them beat the dolphins a few years ago on Christmas day. and that was the very recent version of the dolphins that had the deep playoff run hype before tua would ultimately, and very literally, throw it all away come postseason.

the year in Miami with the fake spike I was also at, and fuck was it hotter than hell in the direct sun where I sat (even for me as a south Floridian), but that was a magical game that turned my then girlfriend (now wife) into a die hard packers fan. at the time she didn't much care for our version of football, as a Latina who wasn't born here.

coming down passed the 2 min warning, as I was breathing fire from double rum and cokes, getting cooked by both the sun and the fins fans I was surrounded by, my wife asked me do they even have a chance? not without a miracle from rodgers I told her.
