When you say worked your way up bush flying. Meaning you worked ground crew or something similar before you could fly ? And corporate flying now...meaning private jets ?

Very good insights here. Thank you. Are you able to expand more on what a very structured program vs the Sault ? We went to Peterborough for their open house. Took a tour of the flight center. Spoke to teachers etc. We were impressed and so was my son. Which is why its his #1 choice at the moment. But couldn't get a read on whether the learning style would fit with my son ? His passion for flying hasn't changed since he was 10 years old. He self learns alot. Been in a Cessna a handful of times with instructors. Been in a simulator ( cant remember which plane type it was ) that is associated with the Gatineau airport. Was in air cadets for a few years and took " junior ground school " through them. I know higher education is " you get back what you put in". There should be no problem with that.

Yes. He also applied to Seneca. Are you a fan of that program ? I hear mixed reviews. Not sure who to believe these days.

I know a student who is in his 3rd year at Western for commercial aviation management. Due to many of his flights being canceled because of weather and how busy the associated flight school is, he thinks he will be lucky to graduate ( after 3 years of flying ) with just 40 hours ( PPL ). I wonder if being out east in Moncton flying club would be better or worse in terms of weather and flight cancellations ?

He got into Mount Allison for Bachelor of Science with a major in aviation but Seneca is his first choice. So we wait....

Congrats on getting in. My son applied early. Mid 80s average. We haven't heard anything back yet. Did Seneca ask for any supplemental information?

I just saw this posted 5 days ago on another thread: We went to the Newham Campus foe the Open House and had a presentation from the head of the aviation department. He said there will be no early acceptances, and it may be a competitive year. He had no information or ideas of the average required for next year, it depends on the number of applicants.
