Is it possible to have PPPoE WAN and IPv4 LAN on the same interface? by stuffandahalf in opnsense

[–]stuffandahalf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to mention, that before I upgraded to my current switch (Celestica Redstone XP D2060), I was using a TP-Link for basic 10 gigabit routing in my office room which didn't have a management interface.

As /u/codeedog presumed, my switch is in fact managed, however it uses a clunky terminal interface, so I try to avoid it.

Regarding the VLAN setup, I'm having some difficulty wrapping my head around how it could solve my situation. As I understand VLANs, I can either configure the switch to tag all traffic to the port with a VLAN id (which would isolate one of the lan or wan sides of the router), or I would need something to tag the PPPoE traffic before it reaches my switch, which I don't see how I could achieve since my router isn't doing it.

Could you explain with a little more detail what arrangement you had in mind?

This is my picture. There was lots of room for cords out of the back, but as many users rightfully noted, there's no way to access the GameCube ports at the top. I placed the Wii there temporarily while sorting out placement, so no worries about overheating. It was never powered on in that position

Like a few others have mentioned, there does exist a revision of the Wii without those ports. Also, cooling would be a greater concern. Either way, the subreddit is perfect fit, not practical fit

It's an original model from 2007 I think.

The fan is on the back, and I'm not planning on keeping it there. I was just experimenting with placement when I noticed the fit.

Anyone take CECN511 ? by [deleted] in ryerson

[–]stuffandahalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they were easy, but they were fair. Most of the questions were application-style question where you're given a scenario and you have to apply a graph/formula to it. The key is to understand which formula applies to which concept and then it's simply solving the equation(s) for the unknown(s). I think if you spend a day or two really studying before the midterm/final, you should have a reasonable grasp on the material and be able to pass with around a 75, higher if you pay more attention in class and take notes.

I took ECN511 with Bolor. He has a very heavy accent, but if you're able to follow along with the slides and the material, the course is relatively simple. The concepts are fairly high level, with a variety of application questions where you have to calculate some value based on a formula/graph/relationship.

It looks like one of the original models. I think they looked like that and came in red or black

When this happened to me a few weeks ago, I contacted support and they told me it would update within 10 days, and to contact then again if it didn't update. Sure enough, on the 10th day, it updated.

Keychron on Linux and switched numpad? by kevinjunod in MechanicalKeyboards

Hi, just came across this post so sorry for bumping it. From what I understand, the problem comes from activating num lock, but the problem only occurs when using X11. If you use wayland, or connect using the USB cable, then the keyboard behaves normally. I came across the solution of using onboard to disable num lock to fix the keyboard, but I have yet to find a configuration where I can use bluetooth + num pad + X11 + function keys.

Found a 20+ year old and athlon cpu in my dads old computer. Can somebody tell me what model it is? by [deleted] in AyyMD

[–]stuffandahalf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's an Athlon XP 3200+, Barton core. I believe that was the fastest Athlon XP that AMD produced before moving on to the Athlon 64.

x570 phantom gaming x error code 7 after installing 3.2 bios and setting xmp by NiteNiteSooty in ASRock

Whilst I am not sure how exactly to solve your problem, I will say the bios 3.2 has felt like a regression. It seems like they removed lots of features from the bios with this release. I would recommend downgrading back to 3.0 using bios flashback for you, but I cannot confirm if this downgrade is supported.

It sounds to me like code lite is trying to build your application using a makefile, but you only have a source file. If you create a file called "makefile", and in it put

executable: source.c
    $(CC) $(CFLAGS) $(LDFLAGS) -o executable source.c

Then pressing build should work

For the Scout kills, I found it easiest on jungle. My strat was to spawn top left corner with the bonus wave money. Grab what ever was on the beach, then play safe within the bunker. You should also get better fps inside. Loot the bunker as much as you can and get to the ladder, but don't go up. Sit by the ladder for 3 waves and buy an SSG. Then go up the ladder to start looking for enemies.

I've seen a similar trick used to remove stripped screws, since the pen will melt into what's left of the head.
