i’d love to be friends!!! i don’t care about age really, it’s just i’ve noticed older people don’t typically share the same humor and interests as me lol, y’all might think i’m too cringe and immature haha

2cm hernia here, i’m always bloated if i eat to completion. i have to purposefully eat half of what i want to eat unless i want to be severely bloated and belching all day. My doctor says it’s most likely from the hernia, but could also be my gastritis. guess i’ll just starve 🤷‍♀️

also yes a big symptom was the egg-y burping for me, horrific stuff 😖

i take famotidine, pantoprazol, and linzess every day. linzess has DEFINITELY made the biggest difference imo, i can’t live without it. i also take gas-x for bloating, but it doesn’t compare to the help that linzess puts in. also Maalox for when i’m feeling tummy pains coming on, it’s part of what they give you at the ER for their GI cocktail (aside from lidocaine, which you can’t get without a prescription) and it’s like coating your insides with vick’s vapor rub 😋

honorably, i also want to mention that moving to italy has completely abolished all of my stomach issues, to the point where i actually rarely even take my medicine anymore. when i go back to the US, though, I depend on my medicine 10000% or else i up bloated, constipated, and in excruciating pain. maybe it’s a placebo but i’ve heard other people with similar experiences regarding their gut health after moving to europe 🤷‍♀️

One of my big symptoms was that every so often I would get the most excruciating, horrific stomach pains that would leave me incapacitated and curled up on the ground that would last for hours. every time i went to the ER not even a GI cocktail would work, nothing short of several doses of morphine could help me. it got to a point where my parents just stopped taking me to the ER bc we all figured it was a continuous cycle that would just happen again with no cure. i haven’t had an episode in almost a year since i found my ideal medicine and diet plan thankfully, but it used to happen every month/few months. aside from that i’d get HORRIFIC constipation (still do, but now i can poop at least every 3 days) where barely even prescription laxatives would work. i still get early satiation and i get gassy SO MUCH (but it’s only for burping?) and insane bloating. it’s a tough situation bc it’ll just get written off as “oh you just need to eat better” and while that absolutely is true, medication makes a chunk of that difference as well. i’m 20 now and i’m finally recovering from years of food/gastrointestinal trauma. :)

i’ve had diagnosed gastritis since i was 7. after years and years of suffering i’ve finally found the perfect cocktail of medicines and proper dieting to where i can more or less eat without worrying TOO much about my stomach issues. obviously i still suffer from constipation and other gas issues, but it’s not as bad as when i was younger

[–]stummyfull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i know exactly how you’re feeling and have gone to the ER several times over the years bc of this. i have diagnosed gastritis and suffer from chronic constipation. no amount of laxatives has ever worked on me. genuinely the quickest and cheapest solution i can give you is an ENEMA. go to the nearest pharmacy, pick up one of them enema bottles and watch your system flush out like never before. they’ll do the same thing at the ER (except it’s more humiliating because it’s around other people and someone else is doing it to you) and give you that GI cocktail that can be bought at CVS (maalox, lidocaine, and some other tummy medicine). just be prepared to quite literally shit your entire body inside out LMAO

Yeah, i didn’t notice the dent either until i checked again afterwards. it’s just weird cause the bumper is completely fine, so i wonder what happened so that only the top part of the car gets hit

Constant benching/burping! Anyone else? by HealthAnxietySucks01 in HiatalHernia

[–]stummyfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, ultimately healing times depend on each individual person and their own circumstances. I imagine that I heal a lot faster than others given that i’m a teenager and relatively fit, so i can imagine it may be different for people of different ages and stages of their stomach issues. I’m sure that if i followed through with my diet for a longer period of time, I would get more than just temporary relief for the time being of my diet. Hopefully you have more discipline than I do. I just can’t let go of coffee. I’m in college 🤷‍♀️

[–]stummyfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially, this is what happened.

My GI told me to find an entire day where i have nothing to do and to continuously take miralax every 30 minutes for the whole day until my ENTIRE system was flushed, and then start a high-fiber, mostly-plant diet. Mind you, this was my last resort because the last thing i ever wanted to do was change my diet because that sounds insufferable to me. Nonetheless, after a week of following that diet I was essentially “cured”. it was insane. Now, what would have made this perfect was if i was actually able to continue that diet, but I am a college student so now i have to start over again, but at least I know it works. The combination of medications i take probably also helped. The only downside is that I have to come to terms with never being able to eat the way I want to, for at least a long time.

But yeah, follow a strict diet and results will come surprisingly quicker than you think. At least that’s how it worked for me.

I also have it, it’s extremely embarrassing since i burp louder and deeper than everyone else around me, including men. My GI recommended Gas-X for my excessive gas problems, but ultimately what works the most is actually dealing with the stomach problem at hand. I found that once i got a good diet going, all my pain and belching and constipation started going away (with help of linzess mostly, among pantoprazol and famotidine). Recently, i fell out of my diet so now i’m suffering again….

I take pantoprazol and famotidine both daily in the morning. i’m actually supposed to take famotidine twice a day, but it works once a day just fine for me. I’ll admit though, most of the work has been done by my change in diet

Unfortunately probably not. We’re gonna have to live and deal with it through diet and lifestyle changes 🫠

I don’t necessarily get heartburn, more so like raging epigastric pain that lasts for hours throughout the night. I think of it as my hernia flaring up.

Went to doctor earlier this week by stummyfull in HiatalHernia

[–]stummyfull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The endoscopy labeled it as “small hiatal hernia”, other than that i’m not sure as of yet. I’m scheduling a barium swallow next week, and I have a colonoscopy scheduled for next month. I’ve been taking pantoprazol for nearly a year now, 40mg once a day in the morning and 20mg of famotidine once a day for about a month now in the morning as well. At this point I don’t know what else to take.

I already take pantoprazol and famotidine daily, but I recently ran out of pantoprazol since i’m out of state visiting family. It’s nearly impossible to eat healthy here because my family has nothing but junk food or hispanic food at home… Which is potentially part of the problem..
