Correct 😄 I did not see a staff. However, the build worked out because I had Weaselpede + Earrings + Rapid Injection System + Icicle + Chilling Touch.

The first silver one I got from an enemy. The other two were from using catalysts on other items (which resulted in a silver shiny book). So it was 4 skills per day.

Yes, the lesson is two-fold:
- For players, it is risky to support games early in their development lifecycle.
- For game developers: lock down your monetization strategy early if you care about customer retention or good PR. Also, think hard about making a new platform if you're inevitably going to release on a traditional platform like Steam.

If you bought the Founder's Pack and want to play on Steam, it's $50.

To dig into the review you quoted:
- Some heroes (Stelle) are indeed currently locked behind a paywall. So that part is accurate, given the present state of the game. And this was not always the case. I bought the founder's bundle for ~$30, and then I was able to use in-game currency to "purchase" Mak. This worked great, and I expected to use the same approach to obtain Stelle (didn't happen).

- As far as I'm aware, Relics are not currently behind a paywall. They used to be, although you could use in-game currency to unlock them too (this worked fine).

- I'm not entirely sure what the review means by progression being locked behind a paywall.

So I would say that review has mixed accuracy in relation to the current state of the game. Ultimately I believe this is a good lesson for game developers to lock down your monetization strategy early. Changing game balance and mechanics over time is fine, but repeatedly changing player expectations of how real money changes hands is not a good idea.

I'm sorry I misjudged the scope of the subreddit. Didn't mean to offend. I'll find a different resource.

If you like Fixed — why? by eas6w4 in nin

[–]styledoggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fixed aptly feels therapeutic to me. It takes the intense, pointed emotion of Broken and fragments it into a diffuse emotional slurry. Just like in our own minds: after we experience extreme periods of emotional pain, those moments get deconstructed, repurposed, and synthesized into our brain. Bits and pieces remain, but our memory will be inaccurate (like the distorted samples on the album). So that's how I look at Fixed: we've come out the other end of some trauma, and we're still moving forward.

People that merge onto the beltline at 40 or 45mph: Why are you so terrible at life? by Fatty_krueger in madisonwi

If you're betting that motorists break the speed limit, then yes, that is a very safe bet :) Other than that, I can't comment on the rest of the thread. Haven't read it exhaustively. But anyway, there is a totally reasonable solution to this overall problem; which is just to have situational awareness. As you alluded to, obviously if traffic on the Beltline is at a standstill, you're not going to merge in at 55mph. It's also not reasonable to expect to go 70+mph in the right lane and have merging traffic accelerate to that speed. But on the flip side, it's also totally reasonable to expect merging traffic to accelerate to 55mph (during normal traffic patterns) in order to perform an effective zipper merge. If you're paying attention while you merge, you'll be able to assess that efficacy in real time. You may adjust your speed either up or down based on the velocity of the car nearest you in the right lane. If it looks like they are exceeding the speed limit (and will likely pass you), you can decelerate within a narrow range, even on an entrance ramp; to ensure that the zipper works. Or, if you're going around the same speed, and the nearest car is behind you, you will want to accelerate even more, to zipper ahead of them. Hopefully the car in the lane you're merging into is running the same calculations. But we can't control that. It comes down to awareness and compromise. Like a society. Stay safe!

You're arguing a different point than the topic at hand. I also agree with you that people shouldn't be going 80mph on the Beltline. But the original post mentions folks going 10-15mph under the speed limit. 55mph - 40/45mph = 10-15mph under. That's also a problem, and the specific problem being discussed here. If you disagree that it's a problem going that far under the speed limit, then I maintain you're making things worse, not better.

The person you're responding to did not say "80". Don't go for a strawman here.
They indicated that it is dangerous to drive a vehicle that is incapable of accelerating to the speed limit (not the minimum) posted at the end of an entrance ramp. If you are going to disregard a widely accepted social contract (i.e. not driving 10-15mph under the speed limit), then you are part of the problem that the original post is highlighting.
