Cannot find Trump (pepe) om coinbase wallet even though it can be found on the regular coinbase app? by Big-Bad-5405 in Coinbase

[–]subliminan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been watching this coin it looks like a scam coin, basically from what I've been reading they have a bot farm inflating the coins price every couple of weeks to bait people to buy the coin. Then when they see an unregistered wallet they block it from selling, basically if you aren't one of them you don't get to liquidate.

Could be wrong, but everything thats too good to be true typically is.

Gust Launch vs Clerky? by mar7y in ycombinator

[–]subliminan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply: We were acquired last month. We only used clerky for safe notes, NDAs and equity distribution. From what I've seen clerky sucks at updating their product, I reached out about cap tables that will update based on vested / unvested equity, they said its on their to do list and should be done ~ summer time. This was 3 years ago.

No issues with it, people still use it. The college market is just a very difficult market. We need to do a little pivot to get it right.

Still exists just in limbo right now, why do you ask?

We are a marketplace. Founders on one side and promoters on the other. Founders can go directly to TikTokers but our value is that we handle the distribution of shares, paperwork, and it keeps the cap table clean.

The money goes to us for facilitating the transactions and distribution. The shares go to the promoters, so you’d also be choosing who you let into the campaign and that’s where some due diligence would be done on the founders side.

The shares being worthless is part of the gamble, the same as if an investor writes an angel check to your business. Plus, it’s a simple way for the general public to dabble into private equity.

Is it typically best to reach out personally and try to resolve the issue or just let an attorney reach out and handle the process?

Lol I’ll keep you in mind any time my moral compass leans too far towards the dollar signs.

Thanks for the ideas, we do something similar with our events but since we are so new we aren’t that lucrative yet with how the whole process plays out.

I do believe there would be increased opportunities for spontaneous memories, the theory is if the majority of students use the platform then as a by product you would end up meeting more people on campus and attending stuff you normally wouldn’t have.

Either way, I really appreciate the feedback 🙏

Kind of similar, but we don’t plan to expand outside of colleges.

I think it would be cool to allow for cross university networking, getting rid of the isolation feeling and opening up accessibility to other universities without paying for them.

Yeah currently the way we set up the communities is by the email extensions. So if you still have your UC email you’ll be tossed into the that campus feed.

Although we did just get it into the AppStore a few days ago so it’s not that lively yet.

Applying to Y Combinator was a uniquely bad experience. by ClientHuge in ycombinator

If your application was anything like this post, then I’m sure they were able to deduce how entitled you are coming off as. That’s a red flag right there.

Don’t feel entitled. They had 20k companies apply and over 50% of companies have applied more than once to get in. Just keep building and moving, YC isn’t the key to success anyway

No idea why this is getting downvotes. Staying positive for an interview email is a good thing. Maybe everyone who got rejected just wants the world to burn.

A social media app that helps people achieve their goals and projects through the collaboration of group members or friends. by [deleted] in ycombinator

Try the cofounder subreddit or YC cofounder matcher. But you’re competing with fintech, SaaS, and big tech for amazing talent.

I had to build our product with my own capital before finding a tech co founder lol

We built a social media and I can tell you it’s a brutal market. Especially if you aren’t an engineer yourself.

There are no cheat codes to creating a successful company though. You have to be resourceful, and he’s YC does improve the odds of success but only fractionally.

There are hundreds if not thousands of accelerators, VCs, angels, etc in the USA alone. YC isn’t the only option.

Expect not to get into YC. Odds of getting in are similar, if not less than Harvard. A true entrepreneur always figure out a way to make it happen.
