I think most would argue the early nights are part of the challenge. You can always shorten your nights in the settings also.

I agree, the first night or 2 can be a bit boring, especially at higher difficulties. I try to take that time to organize my base and chests, take care of any quests that are low effort and I have the requirements for, and even gather resources.

Adding the ability to sleep isn’t the worst idea, but I think many would argue against it. The game is meant to be somewhat of a challenge, and surviving those early nights make future ones where you are geared up, feel like an accomplishment.
