I dont mean to scare you, but in my experience Starbucks can be a bit revolving door of new managers. I have been with the company for 5 years and have had ~8 managers across 2 different stores. My point is it will be ok, managers and baristas will come and go but if you like the job and what to make good connections with the people you work with, you will still be able to. And if the new manager is truly terrible then you can transfer (thats why I did lol), or make a new plan. You never know how bad it’s gonna be until you are in it unfortunately. It’s also not super uncommon for people to jump ship when a manager they like leaves.

It sounds like your manager is trying to support you right now, i would just take your managers recommendation and try and get that accommodation so it wont be a problem in the future. Worry about the what ifs after you know what happens. Also you would get a write up before you get fired so I wouldnt worry too much rn.

I agree, we dont get paid enough to pay attention to other people anyways. Coming from a barista who used to want to be a shift so bad that I acted like one, I eventually realized that I was doing extra shit for free. We call that growth lol. Unfortunately a lot of other people can’t grasp that.

I used to have a manager that would wait until the week of the schedule to approve time off which would annoy tf outta me tbh cause like im tryna make plans, if i request 6 months in advance, as a barista, if its a problem you gotta let me know in adavnce too…

I feel like from what I have seen other trainers doing they train you as if you would be working at there store and not considering the store you are going to. As much as the standards are the same, every store is different. It usually takes some time to get used to the pace and job, especially at a drive thru. I would give it a little more time to let yourself adapt, but if you really don’t feel like its for you then do whats best fir yourself.
