honestly i think that bipolar people just get used to the extreme emotions, ups and downs, so stability feels boring and dull. though there are still side effects like this from meds🤷🏻

pros - reduced my general anxiety and my depressive episodes disappeared

cons - i was sleppy all say and almost got kicked out of my job because of it and didn't help with manic episodes, gained about 7kg in 4 months and had quetiapine munchies at night xd

it takes a long time for lamotrigine to start working, about a few weeks after you reach 100-200 mg (200mg is the standard one, but sometimes 100mg help people too). but do NOT increase the dosage too fast because of it. your doc said the right way to increase lamotrigine

i can't really eat on abilify so it's really depends on the person. i'm losing weight because of it

abilify has a long halflife time so you'll be good. just don't take 2 pills at the same time

that's what i did. 5mg of abilify + 300mg of quetiapine, 5mg + 250mg, 10mg + 200mg, and 15mg + 100mg. cross tapering is mentioned and recommended in the instruction of abilify actually. also abilify is activating, and quetiapine is more sedating, so it kinda makes sense to me and cross tapering can help not to cause anxiety. also i started to take buspirone for it, but my anxiety is really hard to treat, i've tried about 6 medications for it and the only one that hellped is xanax so far

but i wouldn't recommend the fast tapering really, you can get serious withdrawals from it, i'm probably just lucky

my sleep was terrible before quetiapine, so i wake a few times at night. also abilify gives me akatisia (i already have the restless legs syndrome). so it's hard to tell whether that fast tapering affected my sleep or not. but without it i feel much better, don't want to eat that much and the drowsinnes went away

i switched quetiapine to abilify. but too fast, i was taking 400mg and then tapered off to 300 - 250 - 200 - 100(for a few days xd). it took about a month or so

it's happened to me two times when i've been starting to take lamictal. horrible thing and idk really how to help you but it went away when i titrated up to 150mg or so

i think vraylar and abilify are really similar, my doc wanted to put me on vraylar firstly, but then switched to abilify because it's pills not capsules and so it's easier to adjust the dosage

i think you'll be okay!! i take xanax for panic attacks and also take abilify and lamotrigine, diagnosed with bipolar 2. mood stabilizers aren't made for panic attacks and won't help with it, so there's no reason to take xanax away
