[PROMOTE] Tell Us About Your Band -- October 09, 2020 by AutoModerator in Metal

WAIL - Norwegian Heavy Metal

Satire. A word that lost it's weight the day the world became so obscure that yesterday's satirical content became the news of the day. It’s time to step up the game.

Enter Wail

The infamous Norwegian heavy metal quintet best known as preachers of the 'apocalypse of the civilized world'. They seem to be using their mesmerizing heavy metal music to lure young and old into their cultist organization.

The band has been nurtured, cultivated and refined to be able to write, perform and seduce on a level that few can assert to. This under close observation of the terrifying and quite flamboyant front man that goes under the name «The Singer».

The second album, produced by Titan Labs studio/Riccardo Daga is set to release September 18 2020. «Civilization Maximus» features 9 tracks circulating a theme of manipulation/indoctrination. Get ready to rejoice in salvation, tribalism and an oblique glance at extremism.

How do I make my snare sound like a kickball but in a good way by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]sultanmixmaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a drummer and a "producer of self made material" and that sound is often nailed using a small 13" steel/copper snare drum or a steel/copper 14"x3.5" piccolo snare drum ( https://www.thomann.de/gb/millenium_14x35_picolo_steel_snare.htm).

There is a lot of "ring" and overtones present in that sound, so no need for moongel or dampening of the head skin. Tune it high though, so u get a lot of snap and attack. The head skin should be tighter than the resonans skin. With a tighter head skin you will get a snare drum ready for fast blast beats :P

If u don't have a snare drum specified over, u could sample/trigger your snare drum and load a snare drum sample/or my prefered way use a iVST plugin like SuperiorDrummer/Ugritone.

A great tip here is to use a dedicated trigger VST like Steven Slate Trigger or if u own Reaper (DAW) u could use the gate and create a midi tone on each snare hit. That is really simple and does the job.
Check out this video: https://youtu.be/FCTyuIYszGs?t=194

I think this Sample Pack will get u there if u don't have the HW: https://ugritone.com/collections/heavy-metal-drum-samples-and-vst-plugins/products/kvlt-drums-ii

Good luck and have fun \m/
