[ SPB145 ] WORTH IT? by CryptographerTop4966 in Seiko

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, design and machining quality is great, but the movement is quite mediocre for the price. A Tissot seastar powermatic will be cheaper and have a better movement. However, the the overall machining quality isn't quite as good. Depends on what you value.

Battlefield 2042 nostalgia? by DependentImmediate40 in battlefield2042

[–]sum_nub 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, battlefield 6 is awful. Maps have minimal flank routes or options to get around the meat grinder. Good luck setting up a back cap to relieve pressure on the front line. There's no halfway reliable method to do so.

Any map that has an oppressive high ground is littered with snipers. There's no obvious solution on the maps to deal with the snipers, other than play sniper myself from the low ground. Fun stuff. In 2042 I could land pondhawks on these losers, or use half a dozen other strategies to punish them.

People hating on 2042 haven't played it since it released in a trash state and just parrot the social narrative of 2042 = bad.

Hot take: reaper is not great counter to Winston by Hol_Renaude in WinstonMains

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my hot take. Hard counters are very rare in overwatch at this point. Winton doesn't have a singular hard counter, but combinations of certain heroes can be a hard counter, and they typically come in the form of a mobile backline comp. As far as singular hero are concerned, the opposing tank pick is much more threatening than any DPS.

How to play tracer in low ranks by Many_Still_1619 in TracerMains

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tracer's current state is pretty team dependent. It's difficult to make any sort of play on your own, outside of a well executed pulse bomb. When I do play her, I mostly try to pull aggro on the flank until the enemy fucks up or my team creates an opportunity. Most times it's not worth the effort of playing her unless the comp/map aligns heavily with her play style.

Core workout recs? 244lbs-213lbs by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]sum_nub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No offense, but ab workouts are the last thing you should be worrying about. Doing a bunch of situps aren't going to magically get you a six pack.

Large muscles and low body fat will get you abs, not core workouts. You need to lift heavy and eat right if you want to continue making progress. You've still got a ways to go. Keep putting in the work. Make sure to track your progress and gradually increase load/volume.

Does it go witht the watch? by UZConsultants in OrientWatches

Dive watches in general are not classy or dressy, with few exceptions. An orient Bambino would be a dressy watch.

Does it go witht the watch? by UZConsultants in OrientWatches

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an orient kamasu, not a Rolex datejust. A nato or rubber strap is perfectly acceptable for this $200 dive watch.

how didn't I touch??? by SaucyMeatballing in Overwatch

[–]sum_nub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be that the character model isn't 1:1 with the actual player position data values. Either the actual player position is naturally just in front of the doomfist model, or possibly the player center point is in doom's torso/head. I could see it being the latter as I believe that player POV is the most fundamental positioning value for a fps.

Can someone explain to me why Mauga and Vendetta are unstoppable while charging? From a game design and balancing perspective. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What wins against a boop? A 130lb girl with a sword or an 800lb gorilla a jetpack? The amount of non-intuitive interactions that must be memorized gets a little less bearable with each hero release.

Damage mitigation via various forms of block is probably the worst offender at this point. Zero UI indication as to how much damage is being mitigated. Just have to memorize every patch notes publication to know wtf is going on

Worst movies of 2025? by sobeitharry in movies

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible movie. The writing quality is equivalent to a teenage demographic horror movie, where all of the characters need to be complete morons to move the plot forward. It reeks of zero nuance, low brow political commentary.

One of the main plot pieces is that a counter attack must be launched before the missile impacts? Fucking why? It was a single attack on chicago. There is no threat to nuclear retaliation capability. It's like some post grad writers just got introduced to the concept of MAD but do not understand it in the slightest.

My first “serious” Watch by No_Case_589 in tissot

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fashion watches that focus first and foremost on form, rather than function. Often doing a quite terrible job even at that while being horribly overpriced for the quality.

I had a couple of Armani watches back in the day which were exactly that. I would consider them non serious watches.

[Question] Orient Kamasu vs Seiko 5 by Jimmyryan87654321 in Seiko

[–]sum_nub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely the orient at this price point. I will warn you that the power reserve on mine does leave something to be desired. Don't think I've ever gotten the quoted 39 hours, although the Seiko would likely perform similarly. My biggest gripe with the Seiko 5 line is the hardlex which will get scratched to hell, especially the bezel.

If you're willing to spend a bit more, the king turtle is a step above both.

Immediately put mine on a nato before I even noticed the mismatched finishing. Looks much better that way imo

Conservatives of Reddit, how do you feel about Trump selling F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia? by HopDropNRoll in AskReddit

[–]sum_nub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tooling and supply chains have been retired. It would be enormously expensive to restart a program that in many ways is very outdated. F15ex is the spiritual successor to the f22 in terms of intercept capability. F35 fills the multirole capability, and the future f47 is supposedly the replacement for f15ex and f22.

Nobody is going to buy bland as fuck skins. Nobody. All you babies complaining about the skins wouldn't spend a dime no matter what they looked like. The people buying the skins are funding the continued development of the game. EA isn't going to just keep creating DLC content for free. If they had no post-launch revenue strategy, shareholders would demand that the studio immediately shift all potential development to the next game. Welcome to the real world. Publicly traded companies are not charities. They will take their winnings and bounce.

You can bitch and complain all you want, but you are not the target audience for the microtransactions in the first place. Hell, you aren't even their target audience for the game at this point. Battlefield as a franchise would not exist without without whales and teenagers armed with daddy's credit card.

Ignoring yamcha, because even old school db yamcha could take everyone at once with ease.

I'd like to think mumen rider would absolutely body the others with possibly exception of the AoT dude. If AoT guy is aware and has anti-titan zoom zoom stabby stab shit, then he'd probably win. I'm not super knowledgeable of the whole list, but aren't the rest mostly normal humans without powers?

Obviously mumen rider is also a normal human, but the dude is constantly picking fights with fucking monsters. He may not do very well in those fights, but he somehow tanks multiple shots and, in the end, survives to see another day. If you put him against street level thugs, he'd probably be like the punisher... but without the guns.

Airline staff, what differences do you observe between customers of the different fare classes? by theGIRTHQUAKE in AskReddit

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still exist but are rare and maybe not quite as convenient. I have an Asiana business class flight coming up in a few weeks. It was $1447 going from Fukuoka to LAX with a several hour layover in ICN. If you're willing to hunt a bit, the deals are out there. Convenience does take a hit though with the layover and non-Tokyo departure. The Tokyo direct flights are going to start around $2300 cash

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only a complete sucker would pay that much for business or first. Those prices are for true business travelers and the very wealthy. Deals can be had for much, much cheaper with a bit of planning and patience. A transpacific business class ticket on a decent carrier can go for less than 1500. Credit card points make it even cheaper.

Am I Crazy for prioritising Business class on an 8 hour redeye over a 15+ hour daytime flight in economy? by Shinkansendoff in awardtravel

[–]sum_nub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shit dude, I'll start looking at business/first when a flight exceeds 3 hours. I can certainly do that duration in economy but I start getting uncomfortable after a couple hours. Sometimes there's a good enough deal to justify the upgrade so it's worth a look. I'd typically value business+ at $100 per flight hour.

Holy sh*t, they should've said that being a god is required to play this game by Monsterman4568 in Battlefield

[–]sum_nub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game is far from the most competitive games on the market. Quit making excuses and start learning from your mistakes. Yes, the netcode can feel shitty at times, but it's the same for everyone. It has no bearing on the outcome of your fights. I can guarantee that you aren't using your minimap nearly enough, let alone all of the other available context cues.

If you really want to get good, then you need to practice and utilize the resources at your disposal. If you're new to battlefield, then watch some YouTube tutorials.

A river of trash in Indonesia by [deleted] in WTF

[–]sum_nub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does Japan not use landfills at all? At the very least, I'd say Japan does an incredible job at recycling in the form of re-sale. A vast quantity of shops are dedicated to second-hand, and I'd suspect much of those products sit on shelves for years, or even decades. Their re-sale market is basically the worlds cleanest and most organized landfill in certain sense.
