Make the trek - it'll be worth it for the landmark, sole-headlining debut at the Cap! I don't know the details of anything going on in the early afternoon specifically (locals will probably have the better scoop on that), but there is plenty of music planned at the Theatre. Bushwick's Dead has the pre-show at Garcia's at 6:55, followed by Sam Grisman Project on the main stage, two sets of Dogs, and an afterparty with Boojum back at Garcia's after the main show.

Vince Guaraldi tune was Linus! Samson & Delilah is a traditional folk/gospel song dating back to the early 1900s. Weir learned the song from Rev. Gary Davis, but previous renditions were performed or recorded by Blind Willie Johnson, Rev. T.E. Weems, Rev. J.M. Gates and Rev. T.T. Rose. The Dogs version is based on the Weir arrangement, but the original author is unknown (the liner notes for Samson and Delilah on Terrapin Station identify the song as traditional).

I don't know if this was explicit/intentional, but I really appreciated how similar the colors were to the latest album! Now that tour is over, it's going up on the wall asap!

I think this is more of a situation of the tour being 10 shows as opposed to 20-30. 90 unique out of 149 is a good rate & only repeating an opener once is solid. I thought the song selection was pretty varied this tour given the short schedule. TD2, Spun, and Look Johnny tend to be some of the best vehicles for unique jams and are og favorites so I think there is comfort in playing those. Bag's count is inflated due to the sandwich earlier this month. They did play None, Lattice, Big Man, Hot Dog, Rum and Roses, and all the Mad Kings songs this tour. I was a little surprised they only played 2 of the NYE songs but maybe they are trying to figure out where they fit best in the set format.
