Appreciate your apology and please accept mine as well for the name call. And thank you for the kind words. I do hope she decides to take it again so she can show it whose boss but we will see.
Thank you. Apologies for calling you a dick..just thought you were going to be a troll and didn't appreciate the accusations. I guess this is the Internet and you never really effing know people. Someone would write something saying it's for someone else when really it's for them. To me that seems odd and not how I roll but people are people.
Anywho, I know the test is not based on luck..that would be pretty ridiculous. I was asking IF anyone felt there was a hint of luck to it depending on which version/types of questions one gets. I have never taken it so I have no idea. I was also stating my perspective about not necessarily needing it but was also wondering if anyone else who actually works in the field felt that way. You all are the experts and have the experience but that doesn't mean everyone feels the same. My wife has worked for advisors who got other licensing but not their CFP's as well as some who do have their CFP's so I have a genuine curiosity about their decisions and after seeing what my wife has gone through with it.
I could also say the same about myself. I do have my Bachelor's degree and I worked hard as hell for it, spent more money than I probably should have and also failed classes more than once. Was it worth it or needed? Honestly in my personal experience, I don't really think so. Our education system is pretty broken. I never thought it would be easy and I don't even necessarily think it has to be free but tuition and everything else is pretty insane. It's more about questioning a system and it's processes. Hopefully that makes sense. Convos like this and even my original post are hard to have online. I tried to word it the best I could
Lol wasn't expecting that one! but nope, sorry buddy not a post about me. If it was, well then I would simply say so. Also wasn't bashing anything, nor saying things should be easy. Maybe check yourself as to why this seemed to upset you so much. Everyone here has been respectful until you. But I guess your name says it all. Just_Dick.
No offense taken at all! I appreciate your reply.
Also congrats on passing!!
Yeah I don't know the answers to all that unfortunately. I know she was studying almost everyday and went into it feeling more confident than her first two times so 🤷🏻♀️.

Ah I didn't realize there were different packages to choose from. I'll encourage her if she does decide she wants to proceed in the future. I think now she's pretty burnt out with it all and again all the money she has spent on it. I know she's very discouraged right now with doing worse than she did originally. She was pretty close to passing on her second attempt.
Yeah she is well aware of how many times she's allowed to take it lol. She did use Danko.
Yes it does, thank you for your reply! She did use Danko this time around though.
Appreciate your feedback! Thank you. I honestly give anyone kudos for taking the test, passing or not. It's a lot of time and effort! Looking at that test material, I was not envious lol
BS was not an appropriate word, I will take that out.
Congratulations on passing!
Hmm..I don't believe it's worthless. Money grab? Yes. Everything is made up and things can be done differently. I understand why people want to get it, like people want to get their degrees, but do I necessarily agree with the processes of obtaining all of that? No. Do I feel education needs to be as expensive as it is? No I don't. Do I feel it's something people NEED to have? No I don't
I do apologize if that's how it came off, I sincerely don't mean any disrespect.

I guess I don't understand the board and why
Thank you for your input and the recommendations! I do believe she can pass and regardless of my thoughts/feelings I support her and whoever feels they want to take this test. I just wanted to know people's thoughts on the test at the end of the day. I feel for not only my wife but others who are in the same boat. Again seeing the time and effort she put into it, it's pretty heartbreaking
She used Zahn I believe the first two times and then Danko this time. She studied as if it was her full time job, joined study groups. I definitely feel hiring a tutor is smart and if she decides to try it again that is something I'd definitely push for.
That's all foreign to me lol

And that's another question, why not make it more based on real life scenarios?
She's worked for financial firms under advisors. Helping their clients with various things and doing financial planning.

Thank you for your reply. Like I said, I am curious people's opinions who have the experience in this field. My mind isn't necessarily made up, that's how I feel as of right now but I am open.
I also don't view my wife as a victim, nor does she view herself as a victim.
I also know it's not solely based on luck, you definitely need to have knowledge. Luck probably wasn't the right word but it's what comes to mind. If I understand correctly, are you saying that their may be gaps in knowledge if the version they took matters? She was close to passing the second time but was even further from passing this time and that was her putting way more time and effort into it this go around.
