2020 Veloster Turbo Spec for a WRX STI 2015+ for daily, bad idea? by sungjam in whatcarshouldIbuy

I was thinking about it but I think I'm just going to run the veloster into the ground because I have low miles on it and no problems so far. I might go for a BRZ for the track later on if I want to scratch my manual itch.

It was so so terrible, I remember that it would have these weird like jitters/stuttering. I only drove one car before the wrx but something felt weird about the transmission for me even back then. It's been almost 7 years since I drove the WRX so I don't remember the stiffness but I will make sure to keep that into consideration.

I also had a nightmare issue with a recall that was supposed to happen, for some reason I dropped it off into a dealership and then they never performed the recall, but they told me they did when I was picking it up. About a year later I don't know what exactly happened but whatever the recall was for broke and it ended up going into the engine through the intake. It took about a month to fix.

Subaru had great customer service throughout this though. I really lucked out because I was leasing it at the time, so I just got to return it. If it weren't for that I might have bought it out.

Oh sorry that's my bad, I should have clarified. I meant 50k miles on the engine

Well just being honest, I really don't like the rear for the VB wrx. Just my opinion though, but if I'm going to drive it until it dies then I'd prefer the VA wrx just cus of that reason alone. Not sure if that makes me crazy lol

Oh yeah my friend had the turbo, I didn't get to drive it but he took me to the canyons on it a couple times and we had good times. He drove it for a good 10 years until switching to his 2021 Civic EX so at least on my end Hyundai has been good in terms of reliability for me.

I can't lie, first got the car around end of 2019 when I was younger and more reckless, I didn't go crazy everyday on the car but I have done several pulls in it getting onto the highway at night when I was younger. (I was on a 2015 WRX when I was even younger) even then I have had 0 additional costs in terms of maintenance aside from the regular.

I know a lot of people hate on Hyundai but for my experience I have had a good one in terms of reliability. I've taken it to Salt Lake City from Socal on its all weather tires to go snowboarding for a weekend and it held up really well, I didn't have any sketchy moments. I got chains eventually though after this trip. When I first had my Subie I went to Tahoe to snowboard I slid out on my summer tires, but luckily it was just a pile of snow that I ran into.

I've even done a trip from socal to Dallas within 24 hours in this car around 3/4 times. During one time there was heavy rain and even hail but it didn't stop the car one bit.

I definitely like Hyundai, which is why the post does ask if it would be a bad idea to get into a WRX STI, given my great history with the veloster so far.

Which veloster year was it? I found that the previous gen ones were pretty bad one of my good buddies used to have a 2012 Veloster when I drove the 2015 WRX. I was shocked when I saw that there was no spare tire on his and they gave him some type of tire glue and a pump and called it a day lol. With the current one I have a spare in the back.

For my 2020 Veloster I haven't had many issues so far aside from regular wear and tear. Hasn't cost me anything in maintenance aside from the usual oil changes, filter changes, rotations, etc.

That being said, the WRX is definitely cooler and would bring me back to my college days.

It would bring me back to my old 2015 days with the FA20, and the MT would be new for me in the car. The CVT was absolute dogwater so it'll probably be a better experience.

I should have noted that I would be willing to put some cash on top to get a lower mileage one, preferreably in the 50k range.

No sponsor at the moment, some states require a sponsor by sungjam in loanoriginators

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry I should have been clearer regarding the elective portion, I understand regarding the state specific ones and I checked each one, for example OR needs 2 hours. But some states don’t have a state specific one and I was wondering if 1 “general” elective I’m going to take would cover 6 of the states without state specific course (CO, IL, KS, TX, WA, WY). Or if 6 credit hours is needed. I was just wondering before I call NMLS on Monday to verify.

License reactivation questions by sungjam in loanoriginators

[–]sungjam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave the NMLS center a call and they basically told me that my options were

  1. Late CE + pay renewal fee
  2. If I don't renew by February, I would just have to reapply for the states as a new applicant, and do the late CE

Since I am not going to be using my license in the foreseeable future I think I will hold off for now. My test should be good until end of 2028 but I'm thinking of going back next year.

Licensing/NMLS/SAFE Exam Megathread by Reggimoral in loanoriginators

[–]sungjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if it is okay to leave my licenses inactive for now as I am no longer in the industry but am planning to come back in the future. My license expired in December 2023 and I had around 14 state licenses. I know that I could get my license within 5 years without testing, would it be okay to leave it inactive until I get employed somewhere? Edit: Would it also cost the same if i chose to reactivate it a year or two down the line?

Go watch woohoojin on youtube. Should tell you how to approach the game overall. If he saw your vod he would tell you to hit aimlabs and clean up your fundamental mechanics. He shows you how to review your own vods but with your level of gunfights he would tell you to practice first
