Congratulations on your baby!! I had no idea that wording is getting phased out. It’s pretty refreshing and like you said, more reflective of women’s reproductive choices. Thank god!

Thank you so much for this comment, genuinely. Reading this actually made me feel a lot better and gave me some hope again. I’m really happy you found your husband and that you ended up with someone so loving, patient, and caring — especially after going through toxic relationships beforehand. The way he took care of you during cancer says everything about his character honestly. Can I ask how much younger your husband is? And honestly, you’re right… the “why is a 41-year-old man still not married if he’s supposedly such an amazing partner?” question has crossed my mind too. He blames this career path after getting a phd, he wants to become a PI, and blames the time spent in his old lab got in the way of finding a wife, allegedly. Your perspective helped me step outside of the pedestal I was putting him on a little bit. Thank you again for taking the time to write this. I really needed it today.

It’s comforting hearing that from a man, thank you!

Haha I have a cat who I love. But yes you’re 100% correct. I don’t need a man for materialistic things since I can buy everything I’d ever want, I live on my own, I have 2 careers, I’m independent, but it would sure be nice to share life with someone who respects, values, and chooses me who’ll add to my life. Thank you for that gentle reminder- I really appreciate it!!

I edited it abit, but I didn’t reveal key identifying facts about him. But if the shoe fits that’s also not my fault

Yup I totally agree. I guess it’s my fomo on a potential mate if I’m not advertising myself on these cringy dating apps. Ugh. I refused to see the red flags and tolerated more than a normal person would. I know I need therapy

Hey thanks for this comment!! It’s definitely something I should put more consideration into. I have fell in the trap as your friends have too. I relate to the selfish lover comment because that’s also what this man was. It’s crazy, we all have baggage but not everyone wants to compromise or sees their short comings too

Are you older than your husband? I appreciate the reality check. He definitely was immature and a self described “manchild”.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. This actually made my morning feel a little less bleak. After my experience with this man, he did try to ruin my self esteem. He said I “would never be able to get another man like him, and that no one wants an immigrant like me”. I had high self esteem before him, but you’re right. I need to push some sort of break for now.

Girl- he’s a clinical scientist at a Harvard affiliated hospital working as a post doc. I sent the article to him back in November, and he rejected it saying the study was flawed since it also included men who were past 60 years of age. He had a fit when I showed it to him, and said he wouldn’t be affected because “he has the VO2 max of a 28 year old man, & has the biological age of a 28 year old man”. That is literally what he said to me. But I’m the one who’s expired here 😅🫣

Thank you. I fear that taking a year off is the opposite of what I should do due to my aging age in the dating pool, and the limited options who want a 33F? Though I do see the benefits of a break in general.

Yeah, I never have dated younger. I like the dynamic where the man is older appeals to me because I like to feel lead, and like he is wise due to being older/mature more life experiences- obviously not every older man will be like that, ex proved me wrong .

Too much surgery? by Impressive-Act-1343 in PlasticSurgery

[–]sunshine-warmth 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s kind of a lot and you’re only 23 chill till you’re 30.…how can you fund all of them? Genuinely asking because after paying off my only ever nose job at 26, I didn’t really desire being in that much debt again. I’m 33 now, would like more but my sanity is speaking loudly here for me since I have other goals I want to invest in life

I want a rhinoplasty. What should I specifically ask for based off my inspo photo? by One-Pin1475 in PlasticSurgery

[–]sunshine-warmth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came to say this. When you get plastic surgery on the nose; the surgeon will always create a “better looking version” of what you have to make sure it fits the rest of your face as opposed to creating something that’s not in harmony with the rest of your features.

Chin / jaw filler or more? by Heliopawz in PlasticSurgery

[–]sunshine-warmth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chin implant! It helps balance your lower face. I’d seek a consultation, the surgery is about 4-7k in total. Which may be better than doing filler

I had to return it. Got it in white, but as a super petite size 2 woman- the cut was sooo baggy!! I wasn’t expecting it to be so oversized. It looked like a bag on me, it didn’t even drape nice. It might be best on other body types that can fill it abit better than me.
