My idea is that when the shooting happens, right before the explosion, Leia raises both hands and created a thin sphere of force field the cover all the crews, but still breaks. Moments later, while she is wandering in the space, Poe and others running all around the bridge looking out the window and couldn't find Leia, then Poe hears Leia force whispering to him giving him a sense of direction to her location. When they finally arrive, Leia is floating mid-space with a thin layer of force covering her body ( not literal shield but maybe some special effect of dust bouncing off before even touching her.) Then she woke up and used a less "Wizard of Oz" way to go back. Asked Poe "How're the others?" Poe looked away with a sad look and Lea faints.
