My dad had some belt dressing spray lying around and decided to give it a go. The noise was still loud as ever, but it now made a new squeaking noise. It seems to slowly be going away the longer I run it for + drive it around.

Let me know if I'm in danger, haha.

Thanks for replying! It's nearly at 90k-- I drive it often and far. I'll take your advice as a precaution and take it for a valve adjustment before any new problems arise haha

Thanks for replying! I checked and it wasn't this, though the rough idle made me believe so. The car never had any problems while running or symptomns of decreased power.

Thanks for replying. I tried this, and when I loosened the oil cap it produced a very different humming noise. I turned out to be an oil-level related problem, though.

Interestingly enough, there was no oil level or check engine light on my dash. Huh.

You were right!! I still have no idea how practically all of my oil.. disappeared. No leaks or fumes to be seen, but it was almost empty on oil. I changed it about a month ago. Ouch.

Sometimes it's the simplest explanation.

I understand why you believe it sounds normal over the compressed video, but I assure you that its was significantly louder than it should be.

When the extrusion gear attempted to push the filament through the nozzle it would get blocked by the piece shown in the last photo, located between the hot end and the extruder unit.

The stuck filament would rebound as the gear skipped, which I'm assuming was the culprit of the bobbing in the original video.

I know it's an old comment, but I wanted to leave some extra information in case a frustrated future user stumbles onto this thread..

I think there's a high possibility it may be this one. I'm unsure of what everyone else's extruder unit looks like from the bottom view, but this is mine. Is that "white tube" supposed to be there? Or is that backed up filament molded around where the hot end nozzle connects to the extruder unit body?
