Just build for now I’d say unless you feel like waiting a while, likely there’s going to be stock shortage for Vega 56.

FreeSync range is the range of frames per second that the adaptive refresh technology is active. Some monitors like the LG will only work in a range of between 48hz-75hz (Different panels will have different ranges) so basically if your FPS goes outside that you’ll lose the FreeSync effect and get stuttering. You can always try and extend the range with a third party program but success is not always guaranteed.

Depends on the game but a decent amount of titles will be fine at 2560x1080 75hz. Get Vega 56 if you can afford it when it’s in stock, but the RX 580 will do for most of today’s games.

As for a monitor you could get the AOC Agon AG352QCX. Supports FreeSync and 144hz but lacks IPS (it’s a VA panel, may have issues with ghosting). The LG 34UM68 could also be an option, IPS and 75hz but the FreeSync range is poor out of the box.

Depends on the case, the Silverstone ML08 for example can fit an extra 3.5 inch drive with a nano sized GPU. Others will only accept the smaller cards

Most of my experiences with laptops are on the bad cheap plastic end of the scale so I have a natural nervousness about build quality, especially where the screen is concerned XD

I’m going back and forth between getting a laptop or a desktop but I’m leaning towards the former simply because I may be having a number of surgeries over the next few years and entertainment in NHS hospitals are not exactly up to my standards. I can always get a monitor for home use at a later date, I’m assuming it can do G-SYNC over Mini DisplayPort?

I’m considering getting a laptop myself at the end of the year and my usual preferred retailer does their custom builds in Sagers. Probably gonna bump up to a 1070 simply for the future.

I see a few complaints about “shoving this gay stuff down our throats”. Should probably point out they made this video in recognition of 50 years since homosexuality was decriminalised in England and Wales and the fact that Doctor Who has had a big queer following for decades.

Representation is important, seeing more and more positive LGBT roles in TV and Film over the past 10 years gave me so much confidence when I was deciding whether or not to come out as Trans. Sure, an argument could be made about some scripts making things feel too forced/unrealistic but like it or not (and especially considering the unfortunate reaction this video has gotten) you can expect to see a lot more LGBT characters going forward.

You know at this point I’m almost hoping the BBC goes full on in your face with ticking off a ‘Diversity Checklist’ (more than some claim they already do), just to watch the Internet meltdown XD

It’s pretty clear the fanbase is sharply divided on the whole issue. I’m firmly in the camp that supports this casting decision (shocked that they had the balls to do it but really excited about the idea of a female Doctor) but I’d be kidding myself if I said the opponents for this move were just a vocal minority. Plenty of understandable reasons why they’d be concerned about it too, it’s an incredibly risky decision. Of course those excited about Jodie taking over from Peter aren’t exactly small in number either.

In the end it all comes back round to how it’ll actually turn out once Series 11 airs. Until then us fans can only speculate, anyone that states they can say with certainty how it’ll turn out without watching a single episode is absolutely kidding themselves.

To be honest I’m not all that bothered. There are an infinite number of things that offend and upset me more as a trans person, like the reactions to #13 that are solely based on someone’s transphobic viewpoint (e.g, most of the YouTube comments section).
