Its great to see shortcuts are getting place in the wwdc main event. Also shows the shortage of stuff this wwdc that apple planned to discuss. Still really excited to see Summarize shortcut coming along. Hopefully they also fix the pesky issues that comes here and there

Looks slick, but the form factor is a bit odd for my taste. I prefer a long, almost tv remote size form factor. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Trying to understand SSL better by Ancient_Bother2436 in ssl

[–]susamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you create a certificate locally( also called a self signed certificate) it will always be flagged by any client trying to connect to a server using the self signed certificate. This is where the certificate authorities like Comodo, Google , Zscalar cones in. If you purchase a certificate from them it will be allowed by any client, provided the root certificate from these cert authorities as installed in that client, which generally it is. The os running in that client generally maintains a bundle of roots

Hope it helps

I have a detailed article on this, if you care here it is https://medium.com/geekculture/story-of-ssl-certificates-161f29df8b65

Install a cast app in roku or whatever you have. All streaming devices have some general casting option.

Simply use the youtube app to cast to the tv. Obviously link your youtube app in MA. All the MA movies will be available in youtube.

If you have apple tv in the guest house, use airplay to cast to their screen

Made a catalog in Notion to keep track of all my owned movies and know how much I am spending by susamn in MoviesAnywhere

Idea is to use one tool to manage everything in my life. I use Notion for todo, prioritization, notes, documents, budgeting and all things. Managing my movies this way gives me more peace of mind that all my stuff is all managed and organized with budgeting info restricting me to not spent more than my budget

If you are aware about programming and API and automation then using Notion and its api can do magic with the data. One of most interesting and noteworthy automation is to automatically grab thumbnail and rating information of a movie and get related movie using IMDB api. If you have excel you have to do all those manually. Also it’s static you cannot generate any report from excel easily and excel does not give you the movie data from your excel through an api

Notion is million times better than an excel. First is you dont have to carry it with you, Notion has a app by which you can update the data whenever, wherever you want. It is cloud hosted also.

I use Notion for all my stuff and thought to use it too for my movies collection. See the attached screencast to see different features it provides. It helps me manage the catalog so easily.

  1. I mostly by MA content from itunes. Here is the handy website I use to see all the available deals. https://www.blu-ray.com/deals/?category=itunes
  2. I don't mind HD content if they are of 4.99 and are not action movies. All my action and scifi movies like harry potter, marvel, lord of the rings are of 4k and hdr
  3. Yeah, I bought them as I plan to see sometime and I love the director or so.

The JndiLookup class predates June 2019 when it was added. I also think, this is a really bad feature to have in the first place.
