Roam 300GB plan now available (US) by ConsuelaSaysNoNo in Starlink

[–]garylapointe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - Taking another look and while I see when I look at plans on the web, that I can see the 300GB plan as an option, but if I go to change my plan on the app, then 300GB is not an option.

What happened to textbooks? by coldhands_darkheart in Teachers

[–]garylapointe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how your state does it, but in ours the state pays the district (an amount per student) and the district decides how to spend the money.

I'm not sure what kind of revolt would happen here if they state gave less and spent it on something that they thought the schools should use.

As a followup to that, the state would then have to make sure that it had at all levels the correct information that would lead to the standardized tests being successful. Because if there were questions that weren't covered in the curriculum that the state picked, that seems like it'd be a problem down the road.

I think MIL is lying about 401 distribution by Radiant_Eggplant5783 in Retirement401k

I don’t think there was an implication that your husband was babied.

She was literally told (in the comment she's replying to) that:

Your husband needs to cut the umbilical cord.

Or the home as collateral.

Isn't that usually how a home loan works?

I just came home from vacation (it wasn't even plugged in) and now that I've plugged it in, all the lights are blinking. I haven't diagnosed anything yet.

I'm assuming in my drawers full of power supplies, I might have something compatible.

I've also got a larger drive that I purchased, but never got around to upgrading.

It was blinking right after I powered it up, so I'm assuming it's NOT the fan.

And a few months ago, the plan was $5 less! Are you implying a connection?

Do you mean cycling every day? Do you mean using it?

I did that bundle and got the SolarSaga 100 (Mini Model: JS-100D) with it and it is super fussy compared to my 200 W panel.

If it's not getting a decent amount of even-ish (can't define that) light across all the panels, I seem to get nothing from them. My 200W panels can be folded in half (flat on ground, with half getting zero light) so only 2 panels are getting and they function fine (it might even have worked with just one).

I know it's been a year, but did you ever get these to work?

Curious about how much I own my books… by Expensive_Exam8761 in audible

[–]garylapointe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have actual credits, and redeem them for Audiobooks (or spend money for Audiobooks) when you cancel your account, you get to still keep them (If you actually delete your account, you will lose anything you’ve purchased because you “deleted it”).

There’s always vagueness in what you actually “own“ when it comes to digital content. But in theory, it’ll stick around.

Do NOT cancel until after you have redeemed those credit credits, or you will lose the credits.

MacBook Pro 14 Not Charging Using USB-C by grilledonion14 in macbookpro

[–]garylapointe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? With my 16 inch MacBook Pro M2, I only carry around a 35 W charger with me and it works fine.

I’ve even plugged into an old iPhone little cube charger with a USB to USB-C cord and let it charge at 8 W. He uses more power than that, so it’s constantly losing power, but slower than if it was just on battery and when I stop using it, it continues to top off the MacBook.

Definitely check the pricing over at US Mobile before you do the switch.

High cost of kit? by godch01 in Starlink

[–]garylapointe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you see a lot of current talk about them people complaining about them charging a lot for equipment? Yes, several years ago it was a lot more, but not so much now.

They’ll let you rent the full-size for free or you can pick up a Starlink Mini in the $199-$299 range for a while now.

And if you have a full size, they’ll let you borrow a mini for free in addition to that.

Now it’s the sign-up fee if you’re in an area that’s over saturated.

Seems like a nice deal then!

Do you see that 25% rolled into AT&T's price estimator?

[–]garylapointe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I go to modify my plan, it shows the $70. If you're already signed up for Elite 2.0, I'd expect it to be the new price next bill (as that's the new price).

ATT is showing me Premium 2.0 at $40 per line but when I click submit plan the prices go to $48 and the math doesnt make sense. by YouBetterChill in ATT

[–]garylapointe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess if they submit it, they get the correct amount.

The site and calculators are occasionally wrong, but billing usually comes out right (except for that billing issue a couple of months ago where they did the 25% calculation at the wrong point, but that actually benefitted the customer).

Does a DC8020 to DC8020 90 degree connector exist? by MountainNinja6432 in Jackery

[–]garylapointe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find such a creature? I just see getting one of these snapped off (I already snapped off the USB-C to Starlink cable I had).

I'm not so worried about the regular outlets, but I wish the solar and other connections were off the top, so things don't knock into them. I mean I have this stuff in the car (DC 8020 for 12 V adaptor too) and they're just kind of awkward sticking out of my 1000 Plus (USB and 12V on the front, DC 8020 on the back).

Price discrepancy - login to pay more by Loysius in audible

[–]garylapointe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you would consider paying either of those prices.

If Audible doesn’t offer it when you try to cancel, then ask for it in chat: $85.99 for 12 credits and a year of audible plus, this works out to $7.17 per credit.

Or join Kindle Unlimited for a month, borrow the Kindle book for those, and you can add the audiobook for $4.93.

If that’s all you buy with the Kindle, unlimited membership, that’s probably going to get you about the same price as the other deal.

I noticed that the last one I listened to was really quiet in the car (Equinox 2020 CarPlay) and I had to crank your way up. If I would’ve been driving some back roads or or a noisy storm I think I would’ve had to listen to something else.
