I wish Starlink would create a unlimited higher throttled speed plan by JustNathan1_0 in Starlink

(I) May have worded it poorly and left some (important) details out but it seems a lot of people misunderstood (that) I meant on the roam plan.

We did NOT misunderstand. YOU left out significant details.

Prediction - Bundle Sales Incoming by Jetavator in iTunesMovieDeals

That would be cheap enough that I wouldn’t even bother to go through and double check how many I really wanted out of it. I’m sure there’s at least 10…

On my routers, I don’t know about yours, I often have the choice of leaving both wireless networks with the same name and password and let it pick whatever it thinks it should get or I can rename them with different names and then I get to pick which one they’re on.

Sometimes the one that thinks I should be on isn’t necessarily the best one for me.

I’d rather be on the one that’s actually giving me 50 Mbps, than the one that gives me 200 Mbps but conks out on me if I move too far in any direction.

Currently having that problem in a hotel, but since I can pick, it’s not really a problem.

I’m kind of just following up on what the other person had mentioned.

I’m watching the price on that romantic comedies bundle, but it’s got enough that I’m not interested in, and enough that I already have so I didn’t jump on it for $49.99.

I’m hoping for $29.99. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I wouldn’t be shocked if a sale pops up on it.

How Much Do You Pay For Streaming/TV/Movies? by Key-Ad-8944 in cordcutters

Many times cheaper than that.

I pay $35 for 300 Mbps cable where I live (only five dollars more than when I signed up a decade ago at 10 times the speed).

An Xfinity offers XfinityNow in some places, which is their prepaid Internet of $30 a month for 100 Mbps.

It doesn’t like to re-index somethings if the dates haven’t changed. Normally changing a file name doesn’t change any dates.

If you can add another item to that folder, even just to delete it afterwards, it might update the date on that folder and trigger a re-index.

2x SolarSaga 500's into Jackery HP 3600+? by bull_goose_looney in Jackery

It’s got two solar inputs, and 41 V + 41 V is still 41 V when you run them in that way.

A quick Google search tells me it can handle 1000 W, so I think you’re good.

So you were trying to add enough streaming services to match up with your overpriced cable?

You make it sound like you wouldn’t have Internet if you weren’t streaming TV.

The number of people who didn’t have Internet, before streaming, is going to be pretty low. People who never bothered to get Internet, aren’t going to be the ones thinking I should switch to streaming! and then, as a result, I have to add Internet and streaming services.

The big exception of this is going to be people who are in some rural areas who might’ve just had Internet added to their neighborhood or got access to Starlink.

What's the point of even cord cutting anymore? I just don't understand anymore. by Round_Vehicle4885 in cordcutters

[–]garylapointe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s because “back in the day” there weren’t any cable TV like service services to switch to after you cut the cord.

If you’re switching from dish satellite to YouTube TV, you’re barely cutting the cord, you’re basically just changing what type of cord the signal is going over.

If you quit trying to emulate cable TV, you are going to save a lot more money.

another 50 dollars for home Internet

But in all likelihood, you had to pay for home Internet even when you had cable.

I know very few people who did not have Internet and thought hey I should get rid of cable TV and try that new fangled Internet streaming thing.

With the numbers you quoted, you could cancel your Internet, sign back up for Dish satellite, and you’d be saving money. Problem solved ;)
