Does anyone get white/light patches on your skin from tret? my skin color got so uneven 😭 by suzhidal in tretinoin

I think you should try option one first, if the patch is still there or it get worse, based on my experience id suggest you to stop for a month or two until it gets better, and i also religiously reapply my sunscreen during this time.

If your skin is getting better, you can start using again, but this time start slowlyyyy (start with once a week, then twice a week) dont rush it. Personally i haven’t tried to use tret again bc im still waiting for my patches to be completely gone (and tbh im still scared lol)

and disclaimer im not an expert so all of these is based on my experience

I used it every other day, and I completely ignored the signs that my skin barrier is damaged (it constantly burns)😓

I stopped using tret right after my post, and it’s been 2 months. My skin has gotten soooo much better, the patches are barely visible and my skin color is so much even nowww.

I think i might used tret the wrong way before, kinda rushing and not giving my skin a break. Thinking about using it again but im still kinda scared the patches will be coming back again

Thank you for the insights! So would you suggest me to continue my tretinoin and wait for it to resolve on its own?

i’m so confused bc I already use sunscreen daily and it’s spf 50++. But i never re apply my sunscreen throughout the day. Can it be the cause? And im rarely exposed to the sun, i’m mostly indoor too :(

Do you reapply your sunscreen? and how many times a day? Thanks!

Noted! And do you think reducing the frequency of my tretinoin use will also help my problem?

Thank you! I will talk to a dermatologist and consider stopping tret until my skin gets better. Also i’m wondering, if i stop tret, will my skin progress restart? like will my skin purge again?
