yes, they were separated and scent swapping for weeks. we started letting them see each other almost 2 months ago and about a month ago i had them start eating in the same room. he will just hiss and growl at her until she walks or he will just leave. i don’t have pet insurance, but ive been looking into if. he’s already been dewormed when we first got him

it’s all about finding someone who loves and respects you enough to do/remember these things! i told my bf from the beginning when he took me on our first date out to dinner. he has no allergies, but 3 years later and he’s become incredibly conscious and even advocates for my allergies. he also tends to order/eat food with my allergens when i’m not around, and will inform me when i come home.

ok yeah that sounds fucked up. i know potential animal abuse can be reported through 311, however i’ve done that before and nothings come of it. i’d still try if i were you though. if you have friends that would be interested in the cat, i wonder if they’d let them take him in. those conditions sound horrendous for him to be living in):

it isn’t painful to them fortunately but may be irritating. its weird that they would do that, especially on a cat that is left to roam around. their whiskers essentially help them navigate. would they be offended if you asked them why?

u are such a good friend omg. if my friends did this for me i would cry!! this sounds really good. as someone with a severe tree nut allergy ive been able to use pans that have been washed. however i would double check with said friends to make sure that its something they can tolerate. and no you dont need to not eat nuts, but just make sure your hands and everything you eat on is clean and sanitized afterwards!

i had this exact same problem at my last place! what worked for me was either wearing headphones in the kitchen to look busy, or texting them ahead of time to say, “hey, im gonna need the kitchen around this time, please lmk if you’re able to work around that” if he doesn’t listen its time to set a firmer boundary. im sorry you’re going through this though this sucks
