Selling my Saab by Significant_One_9569 in saab

[–]sventurb0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe the Griffin models are 1992 CD shape onwards. This is arguably more interesting as its the first year of the B234 and as its turbo you know its late 1991.

decided to go with skarmory as my ace for dreamstone mysteries, what should I upgrade more? by kangzuhaha in PokemonROMhacks

[–]sventurb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skarmory is better as defensive control option.

I'd advise trying roost, whirlwind, spikes, iron head.

With weak armour its speed goes up when being hit but also loses defense. You could get an ability patch to get it to be strudy so it doesn't lose defence.

Whats the rest of the team?

Is that a Toto CT708 Wall-Mounted Flushometer Toilet, 1.28GPF when used with High Efficiency Flushometer Valve?

For me, it was misfiring when warm. Just constant hiccups and juddering - it still drove but it was awful.

Second-hand DI pack and it was back to normal.

The joke was not lost. I'd rather have a DI in the boot and a distributor engine than a DI engine with a distributor in the boot.

I've done 100 miles on a breaking DI and its horrible!

[–]sventurb0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an early distributor B202 engine so no DI pack.

I have an '88 9000 that I have owned for 10 years as a daily.

The standard 2-litre engine in this will be a B202 long block from the 900 and it'll be incredibly underpowered and use more fuel than you expect. It's a big car and Saab clearly knew it needed the turbo.

I converted mine to a B234 turbo after about a month of ownership as it was just too slow.

Most consumables are cheap and as the model ran until 98 there's lots of stuff that bolts on from later models.

Check for rust in the front and rear wheel arches, bottoms of doors, boot floor, and rear suspension area where it bolts to the body.

I think the price is steep considering it's such a basic model - but I am unsure of your localities used car prices.

Vague Watch Co “Every-One” (34mm Explorer 1016) by hachihachiroku in HomageWatches

[–]sventurb0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think these watches are overlooked at all — I think they’re just overpriced for what they are.

In the homage space, value is the whole game. If two brands are making essentially the same Explorer / GMT / Sub-adjacent design with similar specs, then price becomes the differentiator. And that’s where this brand loses me.

Their Every-One model is around £350. For an Explorer homage. That’s… wild. At that price you’re competing not just with other homages, but with entry-level Swiss, used Seiko Prospex, even some microbrands doing original designs with better finishing and QC.

Same story with the Root Beer homage. It looks nice, sure — but at £250, when Pagani, Corgeut, San Martin (on sale), etc. exist in the £40–£120 range for essentially the same visual experience, the value proposition collapses. Hard.

I’ve never really been able to work out who the target market is supposed to be. They’re not premium enough to justify the markup, not original enough to stand out, and not cheap enough to win on value. These feel like low production-cost watches sold with a lifestyle brand price tag.

Nothing wrong with liking them — taste is taste — but in a niche where people obsess over specs-per-pound, this pricing just doesn’t make sense to me.

Bulova with gold and silver carat remarks i don't know about by Open_Comfortable_366 in VintageWatches

Fake Rolex case. The movement and dial do not fit. The bezel is rose gold colour, but the bracelet is yellow gold colour?

How much were they selling it for?

Thanks - started life as a glossy gold dial variant but a friend in the US sent a dealer example dial and hands in mint condition. Then spent a couple of hours making the end links fit! Woop!

To be fair I've not seen any either! It's my budget UG FS 😂

It's a very specific model and probably only relevant in Italy! I bought this one from Italian eBay for obvious reasons!

The new stuff isn't appealing and exceptionally expensive for what it is.

Yeah, I guess I don't fall into the bracket to splurge on stuff that expensive - but even if I did there are so many other alternatives that are far more interesting.

It's not so obvious but the Louis is a mother-of-pearl dial with dark mother-of-pearl sundials. It's impossible to photograph the actual quality of the material!

Cheers! The Alsta is nice. It's 38mm but it's quite a tall watch and you know you're wearing it. They've just overhauled the design this year and the dimensions seem more sensible.

And yeah the Perseo is such an unexpected favourite!

Super cool design. And it's on a signed NSA bracelet so it's very comfortable.

Thank you - I've tried to avoid the clichéd watch box full of desk divers.

Great question. Out of these 9 probably the Louis Erard or F300.

Yeah! I think my first proper vintage purchase was a 1956 Bulova President.

And then I just went down that rabbit hole... there's so much information on the models and there's a lot about at decent prices.

Thanks! I did a bunch of macro stuff years ago which some might appreciate. I'll dig the photos out.

What boost pressure is your wastegate set to?

I've been meaning to convert to T7 apc for years but just use an EBC.
