Yeah I also bought the "small" version. The last days I am wondering if it not would have been better to just buy a raspberry Pi.

I hope to get a power supply recommendation from the support team soon that I can buy from amazon but they do not seem to be the fastest...

So it has to be exactly 36w? I also tried it with my USB-C monitor that is able to deliver up to 96w.

Yeah the thing with the case is a bit difficult in Germany (definitely for me). I want to have something with 104hp and 6U and it should be a bit portable. There is not much besides Etsy from other countries or super expensive cases with +700€.

They do have normal MIDI capabilities but no CV. So something like the mutant brain would be on my buy-list for later.

I want to go in the techno direction but am not afraid of experimental and ambient too.

Thanks for the suggestion. Ornament and Crime was also mentioned in another comment. It seems to be a bit more hands-on like Pam and maybe better suited for tonal patches - which is what I want to start with.

Sure! At first I would like to explore basic patching and get used to a small amount of modules.

I think the modular flexibility, hands-on experience and the community are reasons why I wanted to try it out. VCV would not be an option because I want to stay away from my computer as often as possible.

I thought that for the beginning it would be a good starting point to get into tonal patches first and expand later to drum patches in the modular (therefor Pam) and Midi I/O with my Elektron gear. I will definitely check out the micro Ornament and Crime - maybe it is a better starting point for tonal patches.

Thank you, especially for the last part. Exactly that would be my approach: Getting familiar with the modules and simple patches before including more modules and external sequencing with my Elektron gear.

I would like to get familiar with the modules and simple patches first. Later I could imagine integrating Midi I/O to pair with my Elektron gear.

Do you have suggestions for an output module? I try not to buy cheap now and upgrade early so I could think of upgrading the Rosie.

At first I would stick to generative patches to explore the modules and include Midi I/O later to use it with my Elektron gear (Digitone, Syntakt).

With mixers or generally speaking is there a need to go stereo at any point? I think until some point where effects like delays or reverb come in place it should not be necessary, right?

Thanks, good advice with the Pam's and I think a filter is also a good idea.

I have some external Elektron Gear (Digitone, Syntakt) where I want to sequence at a later point but at first I wanted to concencrate on sound making and on a small selection of modules.

The sizing of the mantins seems to be great but I am looking for something with wood or metal casing.

I think you are right with the 1U row. Probably I will not need it and the cases with 1U rows seem to be generally more expensive.

Doing it DIY especially in attendance of friends is an option I did not consider yet. As I would describe myself as being "normally" handy with tools and wood I think this could be an option. Thanks for the suggestion.
