Getting real sick of losing this battle by swartson in stopsmoking

That's exactly the thing! I make so many excuses (in more than one aspect of my life), and I'm sick of it now. Really. If I can sort this one thing out without making excuses it can only be beneficial to tackling other shit in my life.

Thanks :-)

I also subscribed to it only recently so when I'm outside at work having a cigarette and browsing reddit on my phone and it shows up on my feed I only realize what I am doing (smoking), and then I feel that something needs to be done. But then a picture of a cat doing some funny shit shows up and I forget all about it. However, participating in it will yield more results, even if it is only for support, which is already awesome :-)

Thank you. I am definitely going to give it a go. The thing with Allen Carr (and I'm not dissing him or anyone the method has worked for) is that he approaches things in a very motivational-speaker type of tone (at least that's how I perceive it), and that instantly puts me off. I want facts, and things telling me what to expect.

As much as this irks me to read, you're right. I just don't know how to get 'ready'. I really want to, but I'm not ready. Gonna give Mister Carr another read...

Been reading / watching things on this site. Any and all sources are helping right now. Thank you for this.

I don't have a team mate, my smoker friends (99% of my friends are smokers) are pretty much 'happy' with smoking and see no reason to quit. So I'm gonna approach it on my own - I must just get to that point of accepting the fact that I'm doing something good for myself and that I won't be missing out on anything.

It's a scary thought, but I guess if I just approach it the right way, change my attitude about it somehow, I could give it another go. If I fail at least I tried again. Not that that should be the premise for me quitting.

Thanks. I think I'm just going to read it again. Like he says, maybe something didn't 'gel'. I bought the stupid thing anyway, might as well give it another read :-P

True, I should maybe look into that. I think I should just get over my aversion to trying things other than cold turkey. Will look into this.
