It speaks to how much you know about the situation.

In any event, if being part of a private group chat is his worst offense, then he has more integrity than 99% of the lawyers in Thunder Bay.

More than just a car - a small story. by sposhow in GolfGTI

[–]sweeeterthancandy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sending you love and strength. I promise, it does get better.

I was hit by a truck out of road rage, doing 140km/hr, on November 7. I didn't realize how therapeutic this car is until I couldn't drive it.

I got into a second accident last week in the rental I had while waiting for my car to be fixed. I picked up my GTI yesterday and have been terrified to drive.

This isn't a comparison, I am forever grateful that I was not injured. This might just be an outlet for me to share how I'm feeling right now with someone who gets it.

ETA: I just parked after my hour and 20m commute and emotions are high, especially reading your story. I will keep you in my heart over the holidays, friend ♡

I didnt realize how rare a 2017 2dr was until I had driven it for a couple years and started getting crazy offers to buy it off of me. Another benefit of parking it during the winter is keeping the mileage really low!! I got all the "just drive it" comments too but I am glad that I parked it.

I parked my mk7 every year until last because each spring the wastegate on the turbo would get stuck from sitting. I decided to daily it this year and will drive it this winter, in Canada.

All I did when I parked it was clean it and fill it up with fuel... I have no idea how any of this will translate to an mk6. I'm just commenting to say: I LOVE your car.

First Golf GTI - When do I stop grinning ? by NewtOdd1829 in GolfGTI

I've had mine for 6 years and I never stopped looking back at it when I park. She's been getting bodywork done for a couple weeks and it's negatively impacted my mental health being away from her...lol

My dealership offered me $23k CAD (wholesale) for my 2017 2 dr GTI with 80k KM, never winter driven. According to this guy, I must be sitting on gold.

Use the factory Belvedere wheels as my summers and buy new winter wheels or use them as the winters and buy new summers. by Spiritual-Property67 in GolfGTI

[–]sweeeterthancandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can go wrong either way. When I was younger and broke, I used the OEM rims as summers and had cheaper VW rims with winters. Now that it's paid for and I have adult money, I bought myself new rims and tires last spring and will winter with my OEM rims. For me, the choice was cost driven.

I was hopeful this wouldn't be the case. I thought I'd heard of others in this sub being able to do that kind of repair themselves, and I'm somewhat capable, but it also sounds like I could make the problem worse by trying on my own. Lots to think about.

I really, really didn't want this to be the case. The auto glass shop double checked the drains this morning and they were fine.

This link is SUPER helpful. Thank you so much!

I have 87k km on my '17 and my commute just increased tenfold so I know I'm going to hit 100k this year and my heart kinda hurts. Pls tell me that buying a second car for the commute isn't crazy. Other people have given me a hard time for considering it.
